According to Ha Dang Khoa - Director of Pacific Oyster Nha Trang Co., Ltd., geoducks have economic value because of their nutrition. A geoduck has 82.3% water, 11.63% protein, 0.42% sugar, 1.22% mineral salts and no fat. In addition, their meat contains 18 kinds of amino acids. However, until the project was implemented, the farming of commercial products was only carried out in a small scale, the output did not meet the needs of the market. Therefore, after researching and proposing, the company was approved by the provincial Department of Science - Technology and the provincial People's Committee to implement the project in the period of 2019 - 2021.
Up to now, the project has been initially tested and accepted the manufactured products.
Ngo Van Hanh - leader of Vinh Luong Geoduck Raising Group said that the group has been given free breeders, techniques and experience by the project. In terms of technique, the raisers have mastered the process.
