The Ministry of Finance has just issued Circular 74 amending and supplementing some articles of Circular No. 261/2016 on maritime fees and charges and the schedule of maritime fees and charges.
Circular 74 stipulates the period for preferential marine fees for ships and boats transshipping oil in Van Phong Bay. Specifically, from the effective date of Circular 74 (October 12) to the end of December 31, the rate of fees for maritime security, tonnage of ships and boats and mooring positions for ships and boats transshipping oil in Van Phong Bay will be equal to 50% of the prescribed rate. From January 1, 2022 to the end of 2023, the aforementioned fees will be charged at 80% of the prescribed fee.
Ships and boats transshipping oil in Van Phong Bay will have to pay maritime security fees, tonnage fees and mooring fees prescribed in Article 1 of the circular as for most other vehicles from January 1, 2024.
Previously, according to Circular 261/2016 and Circular 90/2019 amending and supplementing some articles of Circular 261 of the Ministry of Finance, ships and boats transshipping oil in Van Phong Bay paid fees equal to 50% of the prescribed rate. However, the rate was applied until the end of December 31, 2020, and from January 1, 2021, it was returned to normal rate.
