Currently, farmers are preparing to invest in the sugarcane crop of 2021 - 2022. This year, the investment support policies of Bien Hoa - Ninh Hoa Sugar Company Limited (abbreviated as BHS-NH) for farmers have practical improvements, meeting the needs of expanding area and improving sugarcane yiel as well as ensuring profits for sugarcane growers.
According to Nguyen Quoc Viet - Director of BHS-NH, the company's sugarcane material area currently covers 7,700ha in Khanh Hoa, mainly in Ninh Hoa town. November and December every year are the time when sugarcane growers start a new crop. This crop year, the company has offered comprehensive support to ensure two important goals, those are increasing the area of raw materials and t ensuring sugarcane growing profitable.
Besides, the company continues to invest in infrastructure such as irrigation, electricity system, digging and dredging water reservoirs, drilling new wells, etc. BHS-NH also supports loan procedures with preferential interest rates for farmers to buy agricultural machinery and trucks.
In the 2021-2022 crop year, BHS-NH applies a policy of insurance for the sugarcane minimum purchase price at 900,000 VND/ton for 3 consecutive years. Specifically, in the next 3 years, the purchase price of sugarcane is always at least 900,000 VND/ton. This is one of the important policies since this year's investment crop, ensuring that sugarcane growers only need to achieve a common yield (about 60 tons/ha) to be have profit.
In addition to a stronger investment package than in previous years, sugarcane growers and the sugar mill are also supported by the State's policy. This helps sugar and raw cane prices tend to increase, reinforcing the belief of sugarcane growers about the promising recovery period of sugar cane.
