Technical advance application
In 2020, the provincial Agriculture Encouraging Center has built 3 net houses in Cam Lam District, 1,500m2 each, to grow VietGAP melons. According to Huynh Kim Khanh - Director of the provincial Agriculture Encouraging Center, net houses help producers control diseases and environment as well as apply drip irrigation and fertilize according to demand, etc. Then, plants will develop well with high yield, safe products and high nutrition. A melon crop lasts about 3 months, earning hundreds of millions VND each.
The center has also implemented many models of intensive fruit tree cultivation in Cam Ranh and Khanh Vinh such as green skin grapefruit, jujube, custard-apple, etc., meeting VietGAP standards. The models have brought efficiency with high productivity, good quality fruits, food safety and hygiene.
High quality breeding
According to Nguyen Thanh Son, an officer of the provincial Agriculture Encouraging Center, in the past two years, the model of inbreeding local cows with Droughtmaster cows has brought results in herd improvement. The model has been deployed in Cam Lam, Dien Khanh, Khanh Vinh, Ninh Hoa from June 2020 and is expected to end in June 2023.
For chickens, raising chickens on biological mats has been encouraged. It has been implemented in 6 households with a total of 2,100 chickens in Ninh Hoa. The model not only give good result but also helps farmers understand and apply biosecurity measures to ensure the environment in livestock production.
Developing aquaculture sustainably
In the face of climate change that is increasingly affecting marine aquaculture, agriculture encouraging activities in recent years have implemented a model of marine aquaculture using a Norwegian-style HDPE round cage. Up to now, the project has deployed 3 round cages, it is expected that in April 2022, it will complete the deployment of 6 round cages in Van Ninh district.

In addition, the 3-stage whiteleg shrimp farming model applying Semi-Biofloc technology is suitable for the conditions of Khanh Hoa. The model creates a stable pond environment during the farming process,gives more than 20 tons/ha in yield and prevents disease.
According to the agriculture encouraging plan for the period of 2022-2026 just approved by the provincial People's Committee, the main task of agriculture extension in the coming years is to demonstrate and transfer scientific and technological applications to production for people in the the spirit of following the goals and tasks of the agriculture restructuring project in the direction of increasing added value and sustainable development.
