The Farmers' Association of Dien Khanh district (Khanh Hoa) has just held a conference to summarize the emulation movement of good farmers in production - business in the period 2017 - 2022. The movement has been participated strongly by members with 43,127 turns of households achieving the title of good farmers in production and business at all levels.
In the district, there are many examples of typical farmers, who dare to think, dare to do, boldly research and apply scientific and technical advances and new technologies to production, bringing high economic efficiency with billions of VND in annual revenue.
The movement of farmers to emulate in production and business has contributed to the formation and linkage between farmer households, between farmers and enterprises in the process of production, processing and selling of products. A number of large-scale specialized production areas with cooperative groups and association groups have appeared such as high-quality sugarcane growing area in Dien Phuoc commune, coriander area in Dien Phu commune, high-quality rice seed cultivation area in Dien Hoa, Dien Lac and Dien Phuoc communes, high quality rice growing area in Dien Tan commune, green skin grapefruit area in Dien Xuan commune, traditional craft village producing rice paper in Dien Hoa commune…

The movement has encouraged farmers to promote solidarity, help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably, build a cultural lifestyle in the countryside, and actively participate in building new countryside construction. Through the movement, farmers' associations at all levels have propagated and mobilized members to donate tens of thousands of square meters of land and working days to renew and repair rural roads, irrigation canals, etc. Good farmers have helped more than 1,300 employees have regular jobs, more than 4,100 employees have seasonal jobs; supported capital, plant varieties, animals, traction and production experience for more than 5,000 turns of farmer households… In the period of 2017 - 2022, associations at all levels have actively mobilized members and good farmers to donate nearly 3 billion VND, contributing nearly 3,500 working days, donating materials (trees and seeds), food... to help 1,500 households get out of poverty.
In addition, associations at all levels have also faciliated farmers to access preferential loans from the Farmers Support Fund, the Bank for Social Policies, the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development to have capital to develop production. In order to use the funds for the right purposes and effectively, Dien Khanh District Farmers' Association has coordinated with the Agriculture Encouraging Center, the Sub-Department of Livestock and Veterinary Medicine, the Sub-Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection, the Economic Department, seed companies inside and outside the province to open training courses to transfer science and technology in animal husbandry, livestock and poultry disease prevention and control; guide farmers to put productive and high-quality varieties of plants and animals into production... With capital, knowledge and techniques, many households have boldly invested in building effective production and business models.
According to Pham Manh Hoai - Chairman of the District Farmers' Association, in recent years, the movement of farmers to emulate good production and business in the district has spread in all fields; thereby encouraging the creation of members, improving the living of farmers, and contributing to the socio-economic development of the district. In the period of 2023 - 2028, the association sets annual target that more than 50% of farmer households achieve the title of good farmers at all levels. The association will develop the movement in the direction of producing commodities, developing farm model, boosting cooperation and development associated with the application of science, technology and digital technology.
According to the report of Dien Khanh District Farmers' Association, in the past 5 years, the whole district has 58,722 members registered for good production-business farmers at all levels. Through the review, 43,127 turns of households have achieved the title of good production and business farmers. Particularly in 2021, 10,106 households in the district have won the title, including 242 households winning the title of excellent production and business at the provincial and national level; one individual was introduced to comment on honoring "Excellent Vietnamese Farmers"...
