Proactive preparation
From the beginning of 2022, Khanh Hoa PC strengthened the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Search and Rescue; established natural disaster prevention and control, search and rescue teams in the company and its subordinate units. The company has been fully equipped with facilities and equipment and ensured the number of staff standing ready for natural disasters and providing timely support to other units when necessary.

In addition, in order to ensure smooth power supply to customers during bad weather, Khanh Hoa PC has directed the local electricity units to thoroughly check and review the positions of power poles and lines at vulnerable areas, prone to landslides and floods; conduct reviews to promptly detect and repair problems on the power grid. The company has also ensured means of communication in case of contingencies and arranged a 24-hour standbys to safely restore power to customers in the shortest time possible.
Preparing many measures
While implementing measures to ensure the safety of power grid in rainy and stormy season, Khanh Hoa PC has planed to change the operation mode. At the beginning of rainy season, the company will direct the subordinate units to clear the areas near grid corridors; finish practicing disaster prevention, search and secure drills; practice tackling incidents in different possible scenarios so that the subordinate units can improve their ability in responding and restoring power supply quickly and ensure safety in the event of natural disasters.

Besides, the electronic units are always in readiness for disaster prevention and control. As soon as being informed about the storms which are likely to affect Khanh Hoa, they will immediately assign officials on duty for directing and ensure the availability of the members of the storm prevention and control troop; check situations and gear up to tackle incidents; cooperate closely with the province’s, localities’ and businesses’ steering committees for natural disaster prevention and control, search and rescue in order to get updates on situations and provide promptly response.
Khanh Hoa PC has directed the units to reinforce main positions and check the electric stations to ensure safe power supply, according to Do Thanh Son, deputy general director of Khanh Hoa PC. The units also regularly cooperate with the localities to widely disseminate the measures for safe electricity use in rainy and stormy season and the safety of electricity grid corridors. Currently, the whole company is accelerating the building and repair of big constructions in the province and trying to ensure safe and continuous power supply for people and businesses during extreme weather.
Recently, the company has organized drills with directions given via Zoom and used drones to check situations and damages to the power grid in order to take soon measures to fix the power grid.
