The People's Committee of Dien Khanh District has issued the plan to implement the Action Program of the Government, the Action Program of the Provincial Party Committee and the Action Program of the District Party Committee to implement Resolution No. 09 of the Politburo on construction and development of Khanh Hoa province to 2030, vision to 2045, including the task of economic restructuring.

According to Nguyen Tan Cuong - Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee, the district will promote economic restructuring associated with innovating the growth model on the basis of application of science - technology and innovation in the direction of diversification and increase for value and economic efficiency. In the period from now to 2025, the district will continue to implement the industrial - service - agricultural economic structure. By 2025, the district strives for the proportion of industry to account for 59.2%, services accounted for 36.5% and agriculture accounted for 4.3%. Total state budget revenue in the district is aimed to increased by an annual average of 13.71%. In the period of 2025 - 2030, the district sets a target to increase the proportion of the trade and service sectors; annual budget revenues meet and exceed the provincial budget estimates.
Regarding industrial and handicraft development, the district will focus on completing and well implementing the planning of industrial clusters in the area. In the immediate future, the planning area of the existing industrial clusters should remain unchanged, focusing on planning the new industrial clusters outside the communes expected to develop in the inner city and along the main roads such as National Highway 27C and Country Land 62. The district will speed up and complete the infrastructure of Dien Tho industrial cluster; new planning of Dien Tho industrial area with an area of more than 500ha under the direction of the province, promoting investment promotion to call for investors to build industrial area infrastructure in the direction of developing eco-industrial parks. Besides, the district continues to carry out industrial promotion, to encourage the development of small and medium enterprises, to attract rural laborers to industrial and handicraft production; develop small and medium-sized handicrafts; maintain and develop rural and traditional trades, creating specific and high-quality products from local raw materials; focus on supporting the development of the processing and manufacturing industry.
Regarding the development of the agricultural sector, the district has promoted the implementation of the Scheme on restructuring the agricultural sector in the direction of increasing added value and sustainable development, associated with building new rural areas in the spirit of Resolution No. 19. July 28, 2021 of the District Party Committee; invest in hi-tech agriculture, organic agriculture, build the brand name of Dien Khanh agricultural products. Along with that, forming highly concentrated production areas, linking production in chains; introduce new varieties with high yield, quality and adaptability to climate change into cultivation and animal husbandry; focus on post-harvest technology in order to increase the added value of products and apply scientific and technological advances in agricultural production.
Regarding the development of services and tourism, the district focuses on developing tourism products based on the advantages of typical tourism infrastructure in the area, which are national historical and cultural relics such as: Dien Khanh Ancient Citadel, Am Chua, Van Mieu, Tran Quy Cap Temple, Trinh Phong Temple; natural attractions; wet rice culture, village activities; The district also offers solutions to attract investors with sufficient financial capacity to invest in building a synchronous infrastructure of the service area serving tourism, resort, ecotourism, experience tourism, tourism associated with agricultural production, handicrafts; strengthen promotional activities as well as closely associate with travel companies and tour operators to link tours and tourist routes of the province with tourist attractions of the district. Currently, in order to exploit the value of serving tourism, the District People's Committee has coordinated with functional departments and branches to implement the project of restoring and embellishing the relics of Dien Khanh Ancient Citadel.
In addition, the district will invest and develop commercial centers and supermarkets in urban areas and key areas with dense population; encourage and create favorable conditions for investors in convenience stores and mini supermarkets; upgrade Thanh market to ensure the beauty of Dien Khanh town center. Besides, the district will build a market in Dien Toan commune to reduce to stop using the roadbed and sidewalk as a place to trade; strengthen the management of markets to ensure stable operation, security, order, and environmental sanitation.
