Agriculture encouragement and OCOP products: Linking for development

Recently, in Nha Trang, the 2023 national agriculture encouragement conference was held with nearly 500 delegates from 63 provinces and cities across the country. At the conference, Khanh Hoa introduced many OCOP products (One Commune One Product Program).

The first impression of the delegates was the display of the OCOP certified product booths and some products participating in Khanh Hoa's OCOP 2023 program. Displayed local OCOP products were salanganes' nest, agarwood, grape seaweed, seaweed, fish cakes, dried mango, dried durian...

According to the leader of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, 50 products were introduced at this event. Producers consider this as a channel to promote and introduce products; and agriculture encouragement officers, scientists and businesses who are engaged in agricultural production and providing agricultural solutions for Khanh Hoa's products, thereby suggesting ideas.

At the conference, the delegates highly appreciated the importance of agriculture encouraging forces in creating high-value agricultural products. Pham Ly Thi Thao, the subject of dried cordyceps mushroom products of Thien Thao Group Co., Ltd. (Nha Trang) said: “At the conference, we were able to exchange with agriculture encouraging officers of many provinces and cities across the country, scientists and enterprises, then continue to perfect our products to better meet the needs and requirements of the current market."

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Tran Thanh Nam affirmed that the agriculture encouraging force closely monitors the situation of agricultural production, accompanies, orients and directly transfers science and technology for farmers. Khanh Hoa farmers demonstrated a number of typical products at the conference, which is the most intuitive and vivid report of results. More importantly, the two sides have seen mutual support and development. The delicious, healthy and safe agricultural products... are made now with part of the efforts of the agriculture encouraging force through models and projects on agricultural extension; organic agriculture model, traceability and consumption linkage... Each featured product, introduced and displayed at the conference is both beautiful, delicious and has a clear origin and is  linked with the value chain, which is also a model that agriculture encouraging officers can exchange and learn for their work.
