Developing industry in modern direction

The People's Committee of Khanh Hoa Province has recently implemented many solutions to promote industrial development and create sustainable revenue sources. This is the key lever to realize the goal of making Khanh Hoa a centrally run city by 2030.

Focusing on industry

According to Nguyen Tan Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the province focused a lot on the tourism but did not invest adequately in the industry. Determining the important role of the industry, the provincial People's Committee has found many solutions to attract investment for industry development. During the past 2 years, the province has called many partners in Korea, Japan, and India for investing in the industry. In addition, the province also has promotion activities in many countries with advanced industries.

In September 2023, the provincial People's Committee issued an action plan to implement Action Program No. 57 of the Provincial Party Committee to implement Resolution No. 29 dated November 17, 2022 of the thirdteenth Party Central Committee on continuing to strengthen industrialization and modernization of the country until 2030, with a vision to 2045. Accordingly, the development orientation determined by the provincial People's Committee is to promote all potential, advantages, resources, science and technology and innovation to forward industrial development in the direction of modernization and environmental friendliness; the province  is determined to develop comprehensively, stably, sustainably and with high growth; clearly demonstrates the role of a growth pole and center of the South Central Coast region, the Central Highlands and the whole country in terms of marine economy, high-tech industry, science and technology, innovation…


Khanh Hoa Province has 4 industrial parks: Suoi Dau Industrial Park (Cam Lam district, area of 137ha), Ninh Thuy Industrial Park (Ninh Hoa town, 208ha), Doc Da Trang Industrial Park (Van Ninh district, Ninh Hoa town, 288ha) and Nam Cam Ranh Industrial Park (Cam Ranh city, 352ha). By 2030, with a vision to 2045, in addition to the existing industrial parks, the Government allows the province to expand and develop 10 new industrial parks, with an allocated land area of about 3,320 hectares. Besides, currently, the province has 7 industrial clusters. It is expected that by 2030, it will increase to 14 industrial clusters with a total area of about 669 hectares.

Attracting investment in many fields

To develop advanced and modern industry, the provincial People's Committee has assigned the provincial Department of Industry and Trade to preside and coordinate with relevant agencies to continue implementing action programs to develop the industry, gradually participating in the industrial chain. global supply; expand the production scale of the province's strong industries; build a number of industrial fields and products using modern, environmentally friendly technology with high added value; implement the development of a local industrial promotion program associated with the development of rural and handicraft industries; promote trade promotion programs, support businesses with key industrial products to build national brand products, move towards international economic integration, and gradually participate in the global supply chain; increase import and export of goods according to the established strategy.

The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Management Board of Van Phong Economic Zone and the provincial Department of Industry and Trade to preside and coordinate with relevant agencies to carry out tasks and solutions to improve the efficiency of Van Phong Economic Zone and industrial parks. In particular, Van Phong Economic Zone focuses on attracting industrial park infrastructure construction and business projects; key industrial projects such as energy, shipbuilding, seaports, logistics services, petrochemical refining, processing industry, manufacturing, high technology and supporting industries. Nha Trang and surrounding areas focus on developing high-tech industries. Cam Ranh Bay focuses on developing seaports, processing and manufacturing industries, solar power, fisheries logistics services, seafood processing, agricultural products and food, construction materials production, etc. In addition, the province will also focus on completing the infrastructure of existing industrial parks; establishment of industrial zones and clusters according to approved planning. At the same time, the province will continue to call for investment in construction and business of industrial infrastructure and secondary investors to fill industrial parks and industrial clusters in the province.


Le Huu Hoang - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that with many activities implementing the provincial Party Committee's policies, in recent times, the provincial industry has achieved certain results. In the coming time, the provincial People's Committee will continue to structure, innovate and improve the operational efficiency of State-owned enterprises, develop private enterprises, and promote the attraction of foreign direct investment (FDI); build and implement development orientations for a number of large-scale, effective, competitive enterprises, playing a leading and pivotal role in a number of important areas of the industrialization process, modernization such as energy, processing, high-tech manufacturing, high-tech agriculture, telecommunications and infrastructure.


The plan to implement Action Program No. 57 of the provincial Party Committee on continuing to promote industrialization and modernization of the country until 2030, with a vision to 2045, sets the goal: The province's average GRDP in the period 2021 - 2030 reaches 8.3%/year. Specifically, agriculture, forestry and fisheries will increase by 2.4%/year, industry - construction will increase by 10%/year; services will increase by 8.7%/year. The economic structure by 2030 will only be 7.3% of agriculture, forestry and fisheries; industry - construction 36.2%; services 48%... GRDP per capita reached 189 million VND/year.
