Ensuring agricultural, forestry and aquatic food safety

Focusing on propaganda, training, organizing inspection, promptly reminding and correcting violations... are the regular tasks of Khanh Hoa Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Quality Management in an effort to ensure food hygiene and safety agricultural, forestry and fishery products.

Chu Duc Hung - Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Quality Management said that monitoring food quality and safety is one of the key tasks of the department.

Along with inspection and supervision, from the beginning of the year until now, the department has coordinated with localities to organize 4 training classes to improve capacity in quality management and food safety in the agriculture; organized 13 training classes to supply knowledge about food safety to agricultural, forestry and fishery food production and trading establishments in the province…

The department also has built and replicated safe agricultural and aquatic food supply chain models according to VietGAP standards for products in chains (like vegetable garlic, durian, mango, pork, chicken, seafood, etc.). The department also regularly coordinates with the Southern Small and Medium Enterprise Support Center and Ho Chi Minh City Trade and Investment Promotion Center and the Hanoi Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion... to promote marketing, introduction and consumption of agricultural, forestry and fishery products of the province.

In addition, the department also coordinated to organize the 2023 Safe Agricultural Products and Food Market and the Conference to connect the consumption of safe agricultural products and foods between the two provinces of Khanh Hoa and Dak Lak. The safe agricultural product market has 23 booths of 20 businesses, establishments, and cooperatives producing and trading typical products of the two provinces such as: Durian, green-skinned grapefruit, and dried mango, coffee, herbal tea, wild bamboo shoots... At the conference connecting safe agricultural and food consumption, professional agencies, manufacturers and consumers of the two provinces exchanged and discussed the potential, needs, and opportunities to connect and consume safe agricultural products of the two provinces; and signed memoranda of understanding on consumption between businesses of the two provinces and a memorandum of coordination on investment, trade promotion, and consumption of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products under the cooperation program between the two departments of agriculture and rural development of Khanh Hoa and Dak Lak.
