Two provinces Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen join hands to develop tourism

On November 28, in Tuy Hoa City (Phu Yen Province), Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism and Phu Yen Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism jointly organized a conference on tourism development cooperation between two provinces Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen. At the conference, the leaders of Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen provinces both emphasized that the two provinces are adjacent and have many beautiful landscapes, many unique historical and cultural relics, and many cultural folk culture festivals. Among them, Phu Yen has 2 special national relics, 21 national relics and 89 provincial relics. Phu Yen has many festivals and traditional craft villages that have been established for hundreds of years, with many famous specialties such as: Song Cau lobster, O Loan cockles, Son Hoa dried beef, tuna... The natural and cultural landscape of Khanh Hoa Phu Yen has both similarities but also differences, which are favorable conditions for the two localities to develop tourism and link tourism development. “The centers of Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen are only about 100km apart by road, which is very convenient for tourism activities between the two localities. In particular, Phu Yen province has advantages in folk cultural values, customs, and many beautiful landscapes that other places do not have. When Phu Yen combines with Khanh Hoa, it will create attractive tours and tourist routes. Therefore, the tourism industry of the two provinces need promote tourism development linkages, expand tourism development space", Permanent Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Le Huu Hoang expressed.

In fact, Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism and Phu Yen Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, tourism associations and tourism businesses of the two provinces have cooperated in tourism development to contribute to enriching and diversifying tourist products of two localities. “We often take domestic and international tourists to Phu Yen with attractions such as Mui Dien Lighthouse, Mang Lang Church, Ganh Da Dia... In the opposite direction, Phu Yen people also often travel to Khanh Hoa", Nguyen Phi Hong Nguyen - Deputy Head of the Travel Branch (under Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association) shared.

At the conference, leaders of Phu Yen province expressed their hope that the two provinces would coordinate to increase investment in transportation infrastructure systems to facilitate the formation of tours and tourist routes between the two provinces. Besides, Phu Yen desires to cooperate and develop with Khanh Hoa in calling and attracting tourism investment; build products and promote tourism of each locality's tourism resources, exploit resources appropriately, and create a new driving force for sustainable tourism development. Sharing the same opinion, many delegates proposed that Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen tourism industries need more cooperation to develop tourism, including sharing information, promoting tourism and building tourism products.

Speaking at the conference's conclusion, Standing Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Le Huu Hoang assigned the provincial Department of Tourism to proactively coordinate with the Phu Yen Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to research and develop cooperation contents. In particular, it is necessary to focus on sharing experiences on state management of tourism; coordinate in training and fostering human resources, orienting to build linked tourism products between the two localities... Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association coordinates with Phu Yen Tourism Association to research and develop tourist products linking the two provinces suitable for international and domestic tourist markets. In building linked tourist products, attention should be paid to island tours between the two provinces; the unique Cham Culture of 3 localities: Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, thereby forming a tour connecting this unique tourism product to introduce domestic and foreign tourists.

In particular, it is necessary to research and build tourism connections between provinces in the region to form a chain of regional links in the coming time to promote the effectiveness of regional links according to the direction of the Government, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, People's Committees of provinces. The association must preside over and coordinate with tourism businesses in the province to participate in promoting and introducing tourist programs connecting the two localities; have attractive policies and promotions to stimulate tourists from Phu Yen to Khanh Hoa and vice versa. In addition, Mr. Le Huu Hoang also asked aviation businesses to pay attention and create conditions to restore previous routes, open new routes, and provide preferential fares for passengers flying to Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen.

At the conference, Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism and Phu Yen Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association and Phu Yen Tourism Association signed a cooperation agreement on tourism in the fields of state management, tourist product development, tourism promotion, investment calling for tourism, human resource training for tourism. In addition, Khanh Hoa University and Phu Yen University also signed a cooperation agreement to train tourism human resources.
