Le Ngoc Thach - Chairman of Cam Ranh City People's Committee said that budget revenue and disbursement of public investment capital have been identified by the City People's Committee as key tasks in 2023. Therefore, the city has issued documents directing departments, divisions and People's Committees of wards and communes focuses on drastically implementing solutions to collect outstanding tax debt; promptly remove difficulties and create favorable conditions for businesses and business households to restore production and business. Since the beginning of the year, the city People's Committee also directed agencies assigned to be investors to urgently carry out investment procedures for projects according to the 2023 public investment portfolio, focusing on the list of projects for the socio-economic development according to Resolution No. 09 of the Politburo; list of projects that need to be implemented to meet new rural criteria... At the same time, the city continues to monitor, urge and accelerate the progress of projects, especially site clearance for large and key projects such as: urban area along Cam Ranh Bay, residential area and resettlement of Pham Van Dong street; Le Duan Street (phase 3), beach No. 4 (phase 3), Thong Nhat Park, etc.

Thanks to that, many economic development targets of Cam Ranh have been achieved and exceeded the Resolution set by the City People's Council, for example, export turnover is estimated at 110 million USD, an increase of 17%; total budget revenue is more than 527.4 billion VND, reaching 134.2% of the target; total food output reached 12,157 tons, an increase of 0.47%... In the context that the disbursement rate of the province in particular and the country in general is not high, Cam Ranh City People's Committee has made efforts to disburse 236.8/245.1 billion VND, reaching 96.6% of the capital plan.

Momentum for 2024

According to the leader of Cam Ranh City People's Committee, in 2024, the city strives for total production value to reach 14,262 billion VND, an increase of 12.1% compared to 2023. Specifical targets are the value of industrial and construction production: 7,269 billion VND, an increase of 17.2%; trade and service production value: 4,953 billion VND, an increase of 14.4%; the value of agricultural - forestry - fishery production: 2,040 billion VND, down 6.85%; export turnover target: 120 million USD, an increase of 9%; total food output: 11,600 tons; total annual planting area: 4,350 hectares; total budget revenue: 441 billion VND; total budget expenditure:  more than 738 billion VND. Besides, the city strives to have Cam Lap commune to meet advanced new rural standards; the rate of rural people using clean, hygienic water: 100%; more 90 poor households to be reduced.

Le Ngoc Thach said that in 2024, Cam Ranh city will make efforts to carry out budget collection, focusing on non-state tax collection, effectively implementing debt collection solutions, and doing a good job, management and exploitation of revenue sources in the area. Besides, the city need promote disbursement of public investment capital; resolve problems in compensation and site clearance for large and key projects of the city; speeding up the implementation of long-standing projects. For sustainable and long-term development, in 2024, Cam Ranh City People's Committe will issue a career change project for aquaculture households; make a plan to relocate aquaculture cages to the planning area; adjust the plan to implement the city's urban development program for the period 2021 - 2025 and orientation to 2030; implement and adjust land use planning of Cam Ranh City until 2030... to match current development goals.
