Khanh Hoa expects breakthrough in 2024

2023 is considered as a successful year of Khanh Hoa Province with a series of outstanding events and impressive growth. Entering the new year 2024, the Party Committee, government and people in the province expect breakthrough, continuing to successfully implement Resolution No. 09 of the Politburo on building and developing Khanh Hoa province until 2030, and vision to 2045.

Higher goals set

In 2023, Khanh Hoa has achieved important results in many fields. The province has completed and submitted to the Prime Minister for approval of two important plannings: the Provincial Plan for the period 2021-2030, vision to 2050 and the Project on Adjustment for the General Planning to build Van Phong Economic Zone until 2040, with a vision to 2050.

In the field of development investment, the province has focused on speeding up the implementation progress of key projects according to Resolution No. 25 dated September 30, 2022 of the Provincial Party Executive Committee; investment promotion work has been enhanced. In addition, construction works and investment projects in the fields of industry and technical infrastructure were accelerated, completed and put into use (Van Phong 1 BOT Thermal Power Plant, high-speed highway routes, Provincial Road 3, Provincial Road 2...), contributing to maintaining the economic growth of the province.

At the end of 2023, the province’s GRDP increased by 10.35% compared to 2022, exceeding the set plan by 8.7%, becoming the province with the 4th GRDP growth rate in the country, ranking first in the North Central and Central Coast regions. Total export turnover reached 1,750 million USD, an increase of 5.94%; budget revenue reached 18,107 billion VND, exceeding the estimate by 17.2%, increasing by 10%; total investment capital for social development reached 71,300 billion VND; total tourism revenue reached 2.27 times higher with 2.71 times more tourist arrivals... Administrative reform, improving the business investment environment and digital transformation were focused on promoting. Along with that, the fields of culture, society and education continue to receive attention; policies and regimes on social security, labor and employment are implemented seriously and promptly; the work of gratitude and support for the poor and ethnic minorities has contributed to stabilizing and improving people's living; security and national defense are maintained.

To continue that success, in 2024, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee sets targets as follows: and increase of 8.1% in GRDP, GRDP per capita of 96.25 million VND/person, total export turnover of 1,870 million USD, and State budget revenue of 16,687 billion VND, VND 80,569 billion in total investment capital for social development (an increase of 13% compared to 2023), poverty reducing rate of 0.48%...

Many solutions to be implemented

Entering the new year 2024, the economy is forecast to continue to recover positively; support policies issued in 2023 will have a clearer impact on the economy; outstanding problems and long-standing inadequacies will be resolved; stable socio-political and macroeconomic situation, controlled inflation, and improved business investment environment will be still important foundations to promote development… Khanh Hoa is expected to maintain economic recovery and growth momentum in the coming time. Transport infrastructure is increasingly improving with the Nha Trang - Cam Lam expressway completed and other expressways such as Van Phong - Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot being accelerated, partly creating motivation for economic growth. In addition, resolutions of the Central will create many breakthroughs in attracting investment resources, strongly promoting the province's potential and advantages, creating motivation to promote comprehensive and sustainable socio-economic development.

In 2024, the Provincial People's Committee aims to continue to maintain economic growth on the basis of promoting and creating more positive changes in restructuring economic sectors towards improving productivity, growth quality efficiency and competitiveness; promote the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation; promote reform of administrative procedures and strongly improve the investment and business environment; attract and effectively use resources for socio-economic development, especially key projects inside and outside the state budget; focus on comprehensive and synchronous development of the fields of culture, society, education and health; ensure social security, reduce poverty sustainably, improve the material and spiritual life of the people; continue to improve and build a streamlined apparatus that operates effectively and efficiently.

According to Nguyen Tan Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, 2024 is a year of special significance in successfully implementing the Resolution of the 18th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025. Along with that, the province will continue to stimulate domestic consumption; link between trade stimulus and tourism stimulus; expand and diversify export markets; focus on restoring and developing the international tourist market, building tourism products and services towards high quality standards; promote communication and actively promote Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa tourism. The province will focus on attracting and effectively using resources on the basis of promoting administrative reform; improve the business investment environment, create an open favorable investment - business environment to promote stronger and more effective investment attraction; strengthen revenue management, prevent revenue loss, minimize tax arrears, manage and exploit existing revenue sources… At the same time, the province will strengthen resource management and environmental protection; effectively implement social security, labor and employment policies and closely link socio-economic development with strengthening national defense and security; ensure political security and social order and safety…
