Ensuring power supply in dry season

Power demand in Khanh Hoa province is forecast to increase in 2024. Therefore, to proactively supply enough electricity during the dry season, Khanh Hoa Power Joint Stock Company has simultaneously deployed many solutions to increase electricity supply reliability, prevent overloading and widely propagate the electricity save.

According to leaders of Khanh Hoa Power Joint Stock Company, with economic recovery, especially tourism, demand for power will continue to increase in the dry season this year. To meet the power source, the company proactively supply power from the 110kV system, Song Cho Hydropower Plant, Ea Krong Rou Hydropower Plant and rooftop solar power system with a total capacity of 525MW. In addition, the company is also ready to provide backup power from the 220kV, 110kV Thap Cham, 220kV Tuy Hoa grids to supply the 220kV stations of Nha Trang, Van Phong, and Cam Ranh in case of problems.


Khanh Hoa Power Joint Stock Company has directed the company's Dispatch Department to closely monitor the load situation of routes, command the appropriate operation of the medium voltage power grid system, and avoid overloading medium voltage pressure; review the power grid structure in areas with important customers, make a list to stop reducing emergency power supply, and make plans to reduce capacity when the system lacks power. In addition, priority will be given to handling and restoring power supply to water pumping stations during pumping sessions to combat drought and salinity in the province.


For affiliated electric utilities, the company requires careful inspection of the power grid system, cleaning all high voltage and low voltage lines and transformer stations to avoid ground contact and broken wires. Units proactively work with customers using large amounts of electricity to grasp the production situation and demand for electricity to plan monthly electricity consumption in 2024. Units must review the power grid, change the structure of the low-voltage grid to ensure optimal operation…

In particular, Khanh Hoa Power Joint Stock Company requested to postpone all power cut schedules except for cases that require unusual handling.

Power for production and business to be ensured

Le Huu Hoang - Standing Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee said that the Provincial People's Committee has agreed with power supply plan of Khanh Hoa Power Joint Stock Company in the 2024 dry season. At the same time, the company is required to be responsible for fully implementing the tasks to ensure electricity supply in 2024 according to the instructions of the Central Power Corporation, including the tasks of ensuring electricity supply, electricity saving, communication and load regulation tasks. The provincial People's Committee noted that the company must ensure enough electricity for the needs of socio-economic development and people's living in the province in 2024; strictly comply with regulations of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on conditions and procedures for stopping and reducing power supply; regulate making and implementing electricity supply plans when the national electricity system lacks electricity; implement Directive No. 20 of the Prime Minister on enhancing electricity saving in the period 2023 - 2025 and following years, as well as other related regulations. During the implementation process, the unit promptly reports to competent authorities any difficulties and problems that arise for consideration and resolution. The provincial People's Committee assigned the provincial Department of Industry and Trade to monitor and summarize difficulties and problems arising at Khanh Hoa Power Joint Stock Company, report to the provincial People's Committee for consideration and resolution or report to competent authorities for consideration and resolution.
