According to Huynh Kim Khanh - Director of the provincial Agriculture Extension Center, in 2023, from the Central agricultural extension budget, the center implemented 3 agricultural extension projects. In particular, the project "Building a model of intensive mango farming according to VietGAP standards, spreading the harvest associated with product consumption in Khanh Hoa province in the period 2021 - 2023" is implemented on a total area of 22 hectares in Cam Duc town, Cam Thanh Bac Commune and Cam Hai Tay (Cam Lam district), thereby, contributing to increasing the area of VietGAP mangoes, both increasing product quality associated with transparent and clear traceability and increasing productivity by more than 15% compared to traditional farming methods. In addition, Cam Thanh Bac Fruit Cooperative has signed to consume 100% of VietGAP mango products from households participating in the model, solving the problem of stable output. In Khanh Vinh district, the project "Building a goat breeding model to create raw material areas associated with ecotourism" is implemented by the Provincial Agricultural Extension Center for 3 years (2023 - 2025). In 2023, the project was implemented in Khanh Trung and Khanh Phu communes with a scale of 105 goats. 2 households participating in the project were supported 70% for goat breeds by the state budget. Up to now, the goats have grown and developed well, the model is consistent with the province's livestock development policy, especially in accordance with the livestock farming level of the people in Khanh Vinh. This project organized 2 training classes, a model tour conference and a preliminary conference in 2023 to replicate the model.
In Ninh Hoa town, the project "Building a clean salt production model according to the product consumption chain" was implemented on an area of 1.5 hectares of 1 household. To date, the project has conducted technical training, supported HDPE plastic and implemented steps to produce clean salt. The project organized training to replicate the model and a summary conference in 2023, attracting hundreds of salt farmers to participate and learn.
According to Huynh Kim Khanh, in 2024, the center plans to implement 15 production models of cultivation, livestock, and aquaculture that meet the requirements of safety, environmental friendliness and certified traceability. In particular, for farming, there will model of high-quality rice production, intensive farming of custard-apples, VietGAP grapefruits, VietGAP durians, VietGAP vegetable and growing specialized bamboo trees to get bamboo shoots. With livestock farming, the center focuses on the model of raising biosafety free-range chickens using bedding, raising breeding cows and making green food silage, raising high-quality breeding goats, and raising commercial black pigs. With aquaculture, the center plans to deploy a model of raising shrimps combined with rabbitfish and cobias; shrimps farming in 2 stages on canvas-lined ponds applying Semi-Biofloc technology; mud-free eel farming and a model for applying seafood storage tunnels on fishing vessels using Polyurethane (PU) material.
Along with continuing to implement the projects "Building a model of goat breeding to create raw material areas associated with ecotourism", "Building a clean salt production model according to the product consumption chain" , in 2024, the center will continue to implement the project to build a high-tech marine farming pilot model in Cam Ranh.
