Total seafood output increases by 3.49%

According to a report of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, in the first 2 months of 2024, the total output of wild-caught and farmed seafood in the province reached 18,584 tonnes, increasing by 3.49% over the same period in 2023.

Favorable weather conditions contributed to 17,905 tonnes of wild-caught seafood, growing by 3.42% increase of output compared to the same period last year. Output of farmed seafood reached nearly 679 tonnes, equivalent to an increase of 5.55% on the corresponding period last year thanks to the increased demand for seafood consumption during 2024 Tet holidays. Especially, lobster consumption rose by over 5% compared to the same period last year, reaching 250 tonnes.

Scalloped spiny lobsters have been highly consumed in the first months of 2024.
