Good signals from Cam Ranh Port

In the first 6 months of 2024, Cam Ranh Port Joint Stock Company welcomed hundreds of cargo ships through the port, increasing revenue by 24.5% compared to the same period in 2023. In the coming time, the company will continue to deploy many solutions to attract customers, promote investment to improve business capacity, and develop in the right direction according to Resolution No. 09 of the Politburo on building and developing Khanh Hoa province to 2030, vision to 2045 is to make Cam Ranh City become a tourism and logistics urban area.

Targets exceeded

With the efforts of the board of directors and the company's collective in attracting customers and perfecting services, in the first 6 months of the year, the company's business achieved many positive results.

Statistical results of exploitation of new customers and new products in the first 6 months of the year are 94,224 tons, 18% higher than the plan for the whole year 2024 (the plan was about 80,000 tons). From the beginning of the year until now, Cam Ranh Port has welcomed 235 ships to receive goods, including 17 foreign ships. Total output of goods through the port is estimated to reach more than 1.1 million tons, reaching 46.3% of the target for 2024 (2.4 million tons). Thanks to promoting market and developing logistics chain services for customers, the company's revenue reached 83.6 billion VND, an increase of 24.5% over the same period in 2023 and 52.3% of the annual plan; profit reached more than 10.4 billion VND, up 21% over the same period in 2023 and reaching 54.9% compared to the year plan.

In addition, the company has invested more warehouses and arranged reasonable rental yards to suit the needs of each customer. Up to now, most of the rented parking areas have been filled. The company also maximizes its advantages in seaport infrastructure, equipment and human resources to implement chain services; actively seek and connect with capable service providers in the region to complete the logistics service chain with the most competitive prices in the chain segment from wharf to warehouse and vice versa. In the first 6 months of 2024, Cam Ranh Port has cooperated with many capable service providers and signed a comprehensive cooperation memorandum with Quy Nhon Port in implementing chain services.

Efforts to find new customers

In the last 6 months of the year, Cam Ranh Port Joint Stock Company focused on strongly implementing business solutions such as finding customers, new sources of goods, expanding cargo areas; having policies to support customers, especially large customers, to promote import and export activities of goods through the port; promoting the development of logistics chain services, trade and service development; promoting investment to improve production and business capacity, especially the capacity of wharfs to receive large tonnage ships, warehouses to store goods and standardize service processes.

In the future logistics development orientation, the company will continue to invest in expanding warehouse space for rent to meet customer needs; look for customers to use chain services (including transportation, storage, loading and unloading at the warehouse, entrusted delivery, packaging of goods...); strengthen connections with service providers in the region to complete the logistics service chain at the most competitive prices; strengthen relationships and coordinate with units within Vietnam Maritime Corporation to learn from experience in developing chain services on the basis of connecting the fields of shipping - seaports - maritime services. The company will also survey, analyze and evaluate markets and customers in industrial parks within the port's influence area to understand demand and look for sources of goods capable of attracting through the port, especially pay special attention to container goods...

In the coming time, Cam Ranh Port Joint Stock Company will continue to review and arrange projects according to investment priority, shorten and accelerate the progress of approved projects, focusing on developing projects of upgrading wharf No. 2 from 50,000DWT to 70,000DWT to reduce load; upgrading wharf No. 1 from 30,000DWT to 50,000DWT to reduce load. Currently, the project to upgrade wharf No. 1 is being implemented, expected to be completed and announced in August 2024. After completing the upgrade of wharf No. 1, the company will deploy the upgrade of wharf No. 2, expected to be completed in September 2025.
