Within the framework of Khanh Son 2024 third Fruit Festival, Khanh Son District People's Committee organized a conference on connecting supply and demand for agricultural product consumption in Khanh Son District on August 12. The attendees were the leaders of Khanh Son District and representatives of cooperatives, business households, gardening associations in the locality and agricultural product purchasing facilities in and outside Khanh Hoa Province.

With favorable natural conditions, Khanh Son District has developed into the “capital” of high-quality fruit trees of the province and the south central region with agriculture as the spearhead economic sector. Khanh Son now has 4,911 hectares of agricultural production land, comprising of 3,941 hectares of perennial crops with 3,308 hectares of fruit trees of high economic value (including 2,600 hectares of durian, 349 hectares of green-skin pomelo, 38 hectares of tangerine, 51 hectares of rambutan and many areas of other fruit trees). This year, local gardeners expect to harvest about 17,000 tons of durian, about 45 tonnes of mangosteen, nearly 500 tonnes of green-skin grapefruit, more than 3,880 tonnes of bananas, 100 tonnes of rambutan, 80 tonnes of tangerines, 45 tonnes of jackfruit, and so on.
As said by Nguyen Quoc Dong, vice-chairman of Khanh Son District People's Committee, the conference was one of the main activities of Khanh Son Fruit Festival 2024, serving as an activity for businesses, cooperatives, business households, associations, gardeners and agricultural product purchasing facilities to meet, cooperate and promote the consumption of typical products of the district, especially durian and other delicious fruits.

At the conference, the attendees discussed some potential and strengths in agricultural development of Khanh Son District and some issues in production and consumption of local agricultural products. Also at the conference, some gardeners and agricultural cooperatives signed cooperation agreements on consuming agricultural products, mainly durian products, with some purchasing facilities.
