In the plan for the development of industry and trade in Khanh Hoa province until 2025 and the period 2026 - 2030, industry is given special attention and identified as an economic pillar, creating momentum for the province's growth. This is the factor contributing to the successful implementation of Resolution No. 09 of the Politburo on the construction and development of Khanh Hoa province until 2030, with a vision to 2045.

Focus on building development mechanisms and policies

Le Huu Hoang - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that from now until 2030, Khanh Hoa will focus on developing the industry in a harmonious direction in both breadth and depth, gradually participating in the global supply chain; expanding the production scale of industries with strengths, such as: Shipbuilding, seafood processing, processing of products from bird's nest, mechanical and electronic support industries... Besides, developing high-quality food processing industry, diversifying products for export, meeting international standards; prioritizing the development of renewable energy, clean energy; new materials industry, precision mechanical engineering; biotechnology industry, pharmaceutical industry, research and development of vaccine production, marine medicinal materials.

To complete the set goals, in the coming time, the province will review and adjust policies to support enterprises investing in infrastructure of industrial zones, industrial clusters, and secondary investment enterprises in industrial zones and industrial clusters in the province; make the most of mechanisms and policies to support small and medium enterprises to improve their competitiveness in the production of supporting industrial products. Along with that, the issue of promoting small and medium enterprises, rural industrial production establishments, agricultural and food processing cooperatives to apply science and technology, advanced machinery and equipment to improve the quality and competitiveness of products, units and enterprises will receive more attention from the province.

For priority industrial sectors, the province continues to improve mechanisms, policies and business environment, innovate growth models, promote industrialization, modernization and digitalization to improve productivity and product quality of the industrial sector. In particular, focus on developing the province's core and key industries, ensuring compliance with the new context and international commitments, promoting innovation, and creating a highly competitive business environment. Relevant units will advise the Provincial People's Committee to develop a list of core and priority industries for the period up to 2030 and vision to 2045 to ensure consistency and focus on building priority mechanisms and policies, and developing with focus and key points.

In addition, according to Nguyen Sanh Duong - Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Province Department of Industry and Trade, in the coming time, the province will develop mechanisms and policies on the development of specialized industrial clusters with advantages in terms of transportation, geo-economics, resources, labor, logistics, which can become growth drivers and promote the province's industry to participate in the global value chain. Along with that, the province will continue to amend and supplement mechanisms and policies to support investment in developing industrial parks in the direction of encouraging enterprises to own industrial park infrastructure, increase socialization in investment in developing industrial parks and properly handle environmental issues. At the same time, the province will pay attention to the issue of innovation and digital transformation in industry, and develop human resources for industry.

Investing in industrial infrastructure 

Along with building incentive and support policies, so that industry can truly become the economic pillar of the province by 2030, the development of industrial parks and industrial clusters is being accelerated by departments, branches and localities. In particular, early completion of the master plan of districts, towns and cities; zoning planning, especially zoning with industrial parks and industrial clusters... At the same time, support for site clearance to invest in technical infrastructure at Ninh Thuy Industrial Zone and Doc Da Trang Industrial Zone, Trang E 2, 3 Industrial Zones and Dien Tho Industrial Zone; land lease to invest in building infrastructure of industrial parks and industrial clusters according to the progress of investment projects.

The provincial People's Committee also focuses on urging investors in infrastructure of industrial parks and industrial clusters to implement projects to ensure progress and accompany investors to remove obstacles and difficulties in project implementation; connect and support investors to access preferential credits for infrastructure investment... In Van Phong Economic Zone, the province will attract projects to build and operate industrial park infrastructure, key industrial projects in: Energy, shipbuilding, seaports; processing, manufacturing, high-tech industries; supporting industries, oil and gas processing, hydrogen production. In Nha Trang City and surrounding areas, priority is given to developing high-tech industries such as: Electronics, information technology, new materials technology; relocating facilities that cause environmental pollution. In Cam Ranh Bay area, priority is given to developing seaports, processing, manufacturing, solar power, fishery logistics services, seafood processing, agricultural products and food, construction materials production...

In addition, Khanh Hoa also proactively coordinates with localities in the region, strengthens the organization of conferences and seminars connecting supply and demand to seek opportunities in production linkage; maximizes advantages, strengthens cooperation with Phu Yen province in developing the South Phu Yen - North Khanh Hoa area; connects with provinces in the Central Highlands when the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway Construction Investment Project Phase 1 and the North - South Expressway Construction Project in the East Phase 2021 - 2025 are completed.

The provincial People's Committee has determined that by 2030 the industrial proportion must reach more than 25% in the GRDP structure; strive for the growth rate of industrial production value in the period of 2021 - 2030 to reach 12.6%/year. Strive for 100% of secondary investment enterprises in Suoi Dau Industrial Zone to come into operation; increase the occupancy rate of Ninh Thuy Industrial Zone to more than 80%; fill 100% of 9 established industrial zones. Complete infrastructure construction and attract investment in the industrial zones, including Nam Cam Ranh, Doc Da Trang, Ninh Xuan and Ninh Diem 3.
