Raising the level of industrial development

Khanh Hoa province's industrial sector has had double-digit growth for three consecutive years. To maintain and increase industrial growth in 2025, the province has proposed many solutions, including creating conditions for businesses and investors to complete projects and put them into operation soon in industrial zones and clusters.

Maintaining growth momentum

At the conference to summarize the work in 2024 and deploy tasks in 2025 of the Industry and Trade sector, the leader of the Department of Industry and Trade said that in 2024, the province's industrial sector had strong growth. The province's industrial production index increased by 27.15% compared to 2023. It was the third consecutive year that the industrial production index increased by double digits (in 2022, it increased by 21.68%, in 2023, it increased by 13.69%). The largest contributor to the growth of the industrial production index is the electricity production and distribution industry, which increased by 2.36 times.

Regarding the development of industrial zones, up to now, Van Phong Economic Zone (including Ninh Thuy Industrial Zone) has attracted 146 investment projects with a total registered capital of about 5.1 billion USD, implemented capital of 3.27 billion USD. Of which, 104 projects have been put into operation, 45 projects are under construction; creating jobs for more than 9,500 workers. Suoi Dau Industrial Zone has attracted 60 investment projects, with registered investment capital of 317.96 million USD, implemented capital of 263.32 million USD; of which 50 projects are in operation, 10 projects are under investment and construction; occupancy rate reaches 100%; creating jobs for 13,000 workers. Doc Da Trang Industrial Park has just been approved by the Prime Minister for investment policy; investors are focusing on site clearance (phase 1 is expected to start construction in the second quarter of 2025 with a scale of about 100 hectares). Other industrial park projects such as Cam Ranh South and Ninh Diem 3 are in the process of completing documents according to regulations. In addition, up to now, the province has 9 industrial clusters established with a total area of ​​over 362.6 hectares. Of which, 7 industrial clusters are invested by enterprises in infrastructure, with a total area of ​​over 278 hectares; 2 industrial clusters are invested by state budget capital, assigned to the Center for Industry and Trade Promotion for management with a total area of ​​over 84 hectares. Up to now, 6 industrial clusters have been put into operation with a total area of ​​218 hectares, reaching an occupancy rate of about 82%; attracting 82 investment projects; creating jobs for about 4,440 workers. Nguyen Sanh Duong - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade commented that compared to the general growth rate of the whole country, the province's industrial sector is having an encouraging growth rate. To achieve this growth, the electricity production and distribution sector has the largest contribution with an increase of 2.36 times. In addition, the Provincial People's Committee has actively implemented solutions to support and remove difficulties for enterprises to restore production and business activities; focused on directing the acceleration of the completion of infrastructure construction projects in industrial parks and industrial clusters and promoted the attraction of secondary investment. The Department of Industry and Trade has promoted industrial promotion and trade promotion activities; State management of the energy sector has been strengthened, paying attention to administrative reform, supporting and facilitating enterprises in saving costs and time. Along with that, enterprises are encouraged to develop and apply smart processing and manufacturing industries to create a breakthrough in production capacity.

Orientation for 2025

As oriented, Khanh Hoa Province will focus on developing the industrial sector in a harmonious direction in both breadth and depth, gradually participating in the global supply chain; expanding the production scale of industries with strengths, such as shipbuilding, seafood processing, processing of products from bird's nest, supporting industry, mechanics, electronics... The province prioritizes the development of renewable energy, clean energy; new materials industry, precision mechanical engineering; biotechnology industry, pharmaceutical industry, research and development of vaccine production, marine medicinal materials.

Mr. Le Huu Hoang - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that in 2025, the situation of industrial and commercial activities is forecasted to have many advantages but also many difficulties and challenges for businesses. To strive to achieve the highest results for the targets of the 5-year plan 2021 - 2025 to welcome the 19th Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Huu Hoang requested the leaders of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade to implement the Khanh Hoa Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050; National Power Development Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 (Power Plan VIII); Project on Development of Industry and Trade of Khanh Hoa Province to 2030, with a vision to 2045; Industrial promotion programs, supporting industries, trade promotion. Along with that, the province always proactively follow the actual situation of enterprises and investors to promptly remove obstacles and difficulties; create conditions for enterprises and investors to complete project works and soon put them into operation at industrial zone like Ninh Thuy, Doc Da Trang, Song Cau, Trang E 2, Dien Tho, Ninh Xuan... At the same time, the provincial Department of Industry and Trade need research and advise the Provincial People's Committee to develop the strategic project to restructure trade and developing logistics centers to make Khanh Hoa a connecting center of the Central Highlands and the Central Coast region by 2030. The Department also need implement solutions to promote and strengthen the connection of export enterprises participating in seaport services; connect production, business and distribution units with logistics enterprises to increase the use of logistics services at reasonable costs.
