Big program, opening up great opportunities

When the spring 2025 comes, it is also the time when the Party Committee and people of Dien Khanh district are waiting for good news from the results of implementing the district's key socio-economic programs. The big program will open up great opportunities for this land with a rich cultural history. After 15 years of implementing new rural construction, Dien Khanh has successfully reached the finish line, being recognized as the first new rural district in the province. This is a great motivation for the Party Committee, government and people of Dien Khanh district to continue to grow strongly and have new developments commensurate with the district's potential.

Regarding the task of building the Project to establish Dien Khanh town and establish wards in the town, the district has organized to collect opinions from voters and People's Councils of communes and towns; issued a resolution approving the policy and localities have compiled documents to report to the District People's Committee. The district is focusing on preparing a report to assess the level of infrastructure development in the area expected to become a ward; at the same time, implementing the planning of zoning areas expected to establish wards, building the Urban Development Program of Dien Khanh district to ensure sufficient conditions to submit to competent authorities for approval of the report. The project to adjust the General Planning of Dien Khanh urban area to 2040 has been approved by the Provincial People's Committee and the district is focusing on implementing it. In the near future, Dien Khanh urban area is planned to be a multi-sector economic center, playing a complementary and mutually supportive role in development, closely linked to Nha Trang City.

Dien Khanh's urban infrastructure has been basically completed, the urban appearance is increasingly spacious and modern; the traffic network is developing in a synchronous direction, connecting regions, contributing to the goal of developing Dien Khanh urban area. In particular, it is necessary to mention the Dien Khanh District inter-regional traffic road construction investment project approved by the Provincial People's Council with a total investment of nearly 1,500 billion VND. The route connects Dien Khanh District with the northern area of ​​Nha Trang City; with a total length of more than 19.1km (more than 1km in Nha Trang City and 18.1km in Dien Khanh District). The project is considered to be of great significance, contributing to the completion of urban planning and opening up the direction of socio-economic development of the district to the north of Nha Trang City.

Along with that, in 2024, the district's economic picture also has many marks. The total state budget revenue in the district is estimated to exceed 23.1% of the estimate; the value of public investment disbursement reached 78.68%; by the end of January 2025, it is estimated to reach more than 95% of the capital plan assigned in 2024. Other indicators basically ensure the set progress.

Caring for social security

Nguyen Van Gam - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dien Khanh District said that, along with the task of economic development, poverty reduction, ensuring social security, and caring for people's lives have always been of interest to Party committees, authorities, and the Fatherland Front at all levels. With many good and practical solutions and methods, all levels have mobilized all resources to effectively carry out social security work, gradually improving people's lives, contributing to the successful implementation of political goals and tasks, and socio-economic development of the district. In 2024, the whole district reduced by 73 poor households (reaching 208.6% of the plan), bringing the number of poor households in the district to only 173 households, accounting for 0.42%; reduced 139 near-poor households (reaching 231.6% of the plan), the remaining number of near-poor households was 492 households, accounting for 1.2%. These figures show the district's great efforts in poverty reduction with practical support policies such as: Vocational training, job creation, helping poor households with experience, production capital, etc. Currently, 95.72% of the district's population participates in health insurance, reaching 100.3% of the set target. The district also pays attention to fully implementing the regime for policy beneficiaries according to regulations.

With the spirit of "Leaving no one behind", the care and housing support for poor households and households in difficult circumstances are focused on by Party committees, authorities at all levels, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and member organizations. During the year, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the district supported the construction of 6 houses, with a total support budget of 370 million VND; the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at the commune level supported the construction of 4 houses, with a cost of more than 300 million VND, and supported the repair of 8 houses, with a cost of 60 million VND. Thanks to that, many poor households have been able to settle down in new houses, which is a motivation for households to rise out of poverty... In addition, thousands of gifts worth more than 1 billion VND were given to poor, near-poor, disadvantaged households, and social protection beneficiaries on the occasion of holidays and Tet, and many other social security activities were also carried out promptly.

Entering 2025, key socio-economic development programs will continue to be implemented, bringing more expectations to the people and land of Dien Khanh. With each step of steady development, generations of leaders and people of Dien Khanh district will turn this land into an ecological and traditional cultural urban area in line with the spirit of the Politburo's Resolution No. 09 on building and developing Khanh Hoa province to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
