Dien Khanh: Diversified products participating in the OCOP program

After participating in the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program and being recognized, many OCOP products in Dien Khanh district has improved revenue significantly. Promoting that effectiveness, this year, the district aims to have 25 products from 4 key local industry groups evaluated and classified as OCOP.

Effectiveness from the OCOP program

Participating in the OCOP program and achieving 3-star certification for its spring rolls, Khanh Food Company Limited (Dien Thanh commune) is increasingly enhancing its brand reputation with partners and consumers. According to Do Quang Dat - Director of Khanh Food Company Limited, the profession of making spring rolls is a traditional profession of many generations of families. Currently, the company has about 10 products of pork rolls, spring rolls, ham, pork roll, grilled spring rolls, etc.; producing from 100 to 150 kg of products per day. Some of the company's products have achieved the district-level typical rural industrial products. Since the company’s products was certified with 3-star OCOP, the company's brand has been further consolidated, contributing to increased revenue.

Production at Khanh Food Co., Ltd.

To increase the value of seaweed and other types of seaweed, Nutrimeal VN Co., Ltd., Dien Khanh district has put into production many types of products such as: seaweed essence, seaweed dipping sauce, cosmetics... The products are made from clean, nutritious, convenient raw materials and have potential for consumption in the market. The company has strived to perfect the production process for products to participate in the OCOP program and has had 3 products achieving 3 stars. In particular, the company has successfully combined seaweed and seaweed with Dien Khanh agricultural products such as mushrooms, soybeans, and pineapple to create a seaweed dipping sauce product line that has been positively received by consumers.

According to the report of Dien Khanh District People's Committee, in 2024, the district had 24 products from 10 entities participating in the OCOP program. The participating entities focused on exploiting specific, key, and local product groups that are trusted by customers such as: bird's nest, agarwood, seaweed, seaweed, processed products and vegetables, ecotourism products, and community tourism. As a result of the evaluation and classification, 17 products achieved 3-star OCOP certification. In particular, through the assessment, certification and maintenance of OCOP standards, it has contributed to raising awareness of production units, creating more uniform, higher quality products, more beautiful designs, not only serving the domestic consumer market but also oriented towards export. Products participating in the OCOP program carry out trade promotion through fairs and exhibitions organized by the province, bringing OCOP certified products to e-commerce platforms such as: OCOP site, Khanhhoa.link, Khanh Hoa agricultural market, displaying at fairs and exhibitions... Thanks to that, the results of product production and business have been improved; annual revenue increased by an average of 10% to 15%.

Increasing value of products in rural areas

Nguyen Tan Cuong - Vice Chairman of Dien Khanh District People's Committee said that the OCOP program is a program to develop the rural economy in the direction of promoting internal strength and increasing value, improving the income of rural people, contributing to the construction of new rural areas; at the same time, developing agricultural, non-agricultural and service products with advantages in each locality according to the value chain. Therefore, the District People's Committee has developed a specific plan to effectively implement the OCOP program in 2025. This year, the district aims to have 25 products evaluated and classified as OCOP products at the district level, prioritizing the development of key and advantageous industries of each commune according to 4 industry groups: Food; beverages; medicinal herbs and products from medicinal herbs; community tourism, eco-tourism and tourist attractions. Currently, 40 products of 12 entities have registered to participate in the OCOP program in 2025. The total cost of implementing the program is more than 1.68 billion VND.

To achieve the above goal, the District People's Committee has assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to perfect the OCOP program management apparatus at the district and commune levels; at the same time, deploy propaganda activities about the OCOP program to the management system at all levels and the community. During the implementation process, economic entities will receive on-site support and advice from district-level OCOP officers. The district encourages entities to improve their capacity, meet the requirements on raw material sources; use local labor; expand production scale; quality standards; packaging, product labels; develop linkages and expand distribution channels... In addition, entities also have access to support policies of the State, especially credit policies, science and technology, value chain linkages, and vocational training.
