Participating in the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program, Ninh Hoa town's producers have introduced many quality, diversed products that have been constantly improved and upgraded. In 2025, the town had 44 products from 21 subjects registered to participate in the program; the implementation cost was more than 2.8 billion VND.
Many good quality OCOP products
In early 2025, the National OCOP Council held a meeting to evaluate and classify OCOP products nationwide. Here, Tri Tin seaweed product in Ninh Hai sea area (Ninh Hoa town) through the process of farming and processing meeting international standards has become the first national OCOP product (5-star OCOP) of the province.
Along with seaweed, many famous specialties of Ninh Hoa have been invested in and upgraded continuously to achieve OCOP stars. In 2024 alone, Ninh Hoa had a total of 36 products achieving OCOP stars. Of these, 2 products were scored 5 stars by the provincial council, and proposed that the Central consider and decide to recognize national OCOP products, all of which are products processed from seaweed. 8 products have been recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as 4-star OCOP, such as incense cones, incense sticks, incense sticks, wine, agarwood bracelets... In the list of 26 products achieving 3-star OCOP, it is impossible not to mention coconut, orchids, fragrant rice, sticky rice wine, seaweed, spring rolls...
According to Le Minh Tam - Vice Chairman of Ninh Hoa Town People's Committee, in recent years, local producers have actively participated in the OCOP program, thereby, gradually improving the production process, standardizing products with clear specifications and origins. Thanks to that, the products are highly appreciated and recognized by the OCOP councils at all levels. Every year, along with promoting propaganda, timely guidance and support for producers, support from the state budget also encourages producers to constantly improve and upgrade quality products. In 2024, the budget for implementing the OCOP program in Ninh Hoa was more than 2.5 billion VND, including more than 2.2 billion VND supported by the State, mainly for producers to upgrade products. In 2025, the budget for implementing the OCOP program is more than 2.8 billion VND, nearly 2.4 billion VND of which is the state budget, the rest is counterpart capital of the producers participating in the program.

This year, Ninh Hoa town has a total of 44 products from 21 producers registering to participate in the OCOP program. Many products of which continue to be invested in by producers to upgrade their OCOP level and many new products are participating for the first time. According to Tran Ba Ninh - Director of Ba Ninh Company Limited, in 2024, 3 of his three-star OCOP products were recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as achieving 4-star OCOP status. In 2025, the company continues to invest in equipment and develop the premium Ba Ninh three-star OCOP product. Similarly, 2 four-star OCOP products will also continue to be upgraded, determined to achieve 5-star OCOP. In addition, many products that achieved 3 stars in previous years are expected to be upgraded.
Le Minh Tam said that this year, Ninh Hoa continues to create high-quality products that meet the prescribed standards; modern packaging designs, with clear traceability; contributing to the formation of product value chains, focusing on key local products to reach out to domestic and foreign markets. Along with seaweed, agarwood, coconut, chicken, rice, spring rolls... that have gradually become familiar to the market, products participating in OCOP this year also include oysters, salt, tangerine tea, agarwood wine, dried mango, Hon Khoi anchovy fish sauce, seaweed seeds... In the process of implementing production and business plans, the producers proactively coordinate with OCOP management agencies at all levels, OCOP consultants to access support policies on credit, science and technology, value chain linkage, vocational training... The assessment and classification will be carried out in the fourth quarter of 2025, followed by support programs and trade promotion for OCOP products.
During the implementation process, Ninh Hoa requires communes and specialized agencies to focus on promoting propaganda and mobilizing economic organizations and production households in the area to register to participate in the program; review, support and guide local producers to participate in the OCOP program for the best results.
