The 9th council meeting of Asia-Pacific Network for Sustainable Forest Management and Rehabilitation (APFNet), organized by the Department of Forestry and Forest Protection under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, took place in Khanh Hoa Province on April 23 and 24. The meeting featured 22 representatives from 13 economies and APFNet member organizations and was also connected online to other members of APFNet.

At the meeting on April 23, PhD Sokh Heng (Cambodia) was re-elected as Chairman of APFNet Council until 2028. The Secretariat presented a report detailing the achievements of its operations in 2024; reviewed and adopted the APFNet’s rules of procedure. The representatives also discussed the outline for APFNet's strategic plan for 2026- 2030 period. The meeting also noted the achievements and progress of the SANFRI initiative and the project namely Developing participatory management in the upper Bengawan Solo River Basin (stage 1 and 2).

On April 24, the representatives visited Hon Ba Nature Reserve to explore public-private partnership model in forest restoration and enhancing socio-economic benefits, forest environment leasing; afforestation within the reserve, etc.
