The combination of processing strengths in the north and unique raw material sources in the south is opening up golden opportunities for Khanh Hoa's rural industry. Through industrial promotion funds, products such as agarwood, Bau Truc pottery, bird's nest, and specialty fruits are gradually escaping the shadow of handcrafted production to join the value chain of the national market.
In Bau Truc pottery village, the echoes of traditional crafts are taking on a new rhythm of life. Instead of the arduous manual pounding of clay by artisans, a modern system of grinding and filtering machines supported by the industrial promotion program is operating stably. The application of technology in the preliminary processing stage does not diminish the uniqueness of Cham pottery; on the contrary, it helps to free up labor, improve smoothness, and reduce the rate of defective products during firing. Ceramic vases and art sculptures, produced with consistent quality, have become popular interior decoration items at resorts.
Not only the pottery village, but the agarwood industry in Van Ninh and the bird's nest industry in Nha Trang are also witnessing a revolution in added value. Previously, agarwood was mainly exported in raw form or used to make ordinary incense. Now, thanks to funding for design and extraction equipment, businesses are producing pure agarwood essential oil and exquisite handcrafted bracelets. High-end agarwood gift sets are present in large shopping malls, transforming local products into luxury items for international tourists. Industrial promotion plays a crucial role, encouraging individual businesses to invest in showrooms, standardize packaging processes, and transform natural products into truly commercial goods.

In the land of sea grape, the application of ozone water filtration systems and vacuum packaging technology has definitively solved the preservation problem. Khanh Hoa sea grapes, which were previously only consumed fresh for a short period, can now be transported throughout the country and exported to markets such as Japan and the United States.
Le Quoc Dat, Deputy Director of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, said that after the merger, industrial promotion in Khanh Hoa is showing a strong shift from scattered support to in-depth investment in advanced equipment. According to Decision No. 1849/QD-UBND, dated October 30, 2025, the province has allocated over 1 billion VND to support rural industrial establishments in technological innovation. This is a decisive move to enhance the value of local specialty products.
Khanh Hoa currently has a huge fruit growing area with Khanh Son durian, Cam Lam mango, and Ninh Thuan grapes and apples. However, the biggest challenge lies in seasonality and the pressure to consume fresh agricultural products. In reality, over the years, dependence on traders has led farmers into a vicious cycle of "good harvest, low prices." To break the monoculture of raw agricultural products, the province's industrial promotion program has prioritized resources to support small and medium-sized enterprises in building cold storage systems and deep processing lines.
Nguyen Huu Anh - Director of Thanh Hung Agricultural Co., Ltd. said that the company is currently growing, producing, and processing agricultural products; and has also introduced products to the market such as: freeze-dried durian, mangosteen, rambutan, freeze-dried pineapple tea, durian ice cream, and frozen durian. Specifically, freeze-dried durian has been awarded the title of typical rural industrial product in the Central and Central Highlands regions. Recently, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center provided funding to build a showroom for the company's products, facilitating approximately 200 visitors and shoppers per month. In addition to products produced by Thanh Hung Agricultural Co., Ltd., products from cooperatives, production groups, and other small-scale producers in the area are also displayed and introduced here. This aims to enhance competitiveness, promote brands, expand markets, attract investment from domestic and foreign businesses, and create favorable conditions for rural industrial enterprises and production facilities to establish a firm foothold in the market.
In addition, many other agricultural processing businesses have also received support in installing freeze-drying and dehydrating lines, enabling them to be completely self-sufficient in supply. This process not only helps to maximize the use of raw materials but also creates a product line with stable economic value year-round.
In the development plan until 2030, the province has identified industrial promotion as not merely providing machinery support, but rather comprehensive support ranging from management thinking to digital marketing skills. The promotion of products on e-commerce platforms, the application of traceability using QR codes, and the standardization of packaging to meet international standards will be intensified. Once bottlenecks in capital and technology are overcome, characteristic rural industrial products will no longer be confined to villages, but will truly become a driving force for the sustainable and harmonious development of Khanh Hoa's economy, harmonizing industry, agriculture, and services.
