Enhancing airport capacity to ensure security, smart, and friendly model

Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has issued a plan to implement the Prime Minister’s approval of the project on enhancing airport capacity to ensure security, smart, and friendly standards in the new era in the province.

Under the plan, in 2026, the province will cooperate with relevant agencies to pilot a secure, smart, and friendly airport model; strive to digitize over 30% of aviation security control processes and related procedures at Cam Ranh International Airport; and integrate the aviation security system with the national population database.

By 2027, Khanh Hoa will cooperate to deploy the secure, smart, and friendly airport model at Cam Ranh International Airport in accordance with the roadmap and guidance from the Ministry of Public Security; apply automated control technology, biometric identification or suitable technology solutions in aviation security control and passenger service. Additionally, aviation security forces at the airport will be equipped with technology to detect and suppress unmanned aerial vehicles.

From 2028 to 2030, the province will implement a system of technical standards for aviation security equipment; continue to modernize equipment to meet the requirements of preventing, detecting and handling traditional and emerging aviation security threats at Cam Ranh International Airport.
