Nha Trang has celebrated many activities in response to Earth Hour observed at the end of March annually. Most of the local people and businesses joined the event by turning off their non-essential lights to save energy.
Khanh Hoa Association for Conservation of Nature & Environment in cooperation with Power Transmission Company 3 (Vietnam Electricity) held a meeting on the morning of March 23 to mark the event with the participation of nearly 100 members and young people.
In the afternoon, nearly 70 teachers and students of VAIC and soldiers of Nha Trang Officer Information School took part in a bike parade winding its way through Nha Trang City.
In the evening, thousands of locals and young people poured out into 2-4 Square to celebrate the Earth Hour sending the message “Together we can save our Planet”.
During the Earth Hour 2013 at 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m, the lighting in public places and at hotels on Tran Phu Street between Tran Phu Street and The Youth Park was turned off.
Hopefully, many practical energy-saving activities continue after the annual event.
