Monkey Island Nha Trang held basket boat race to welcome New Year on February 22 (thr fourth day of lunar year). The race was joined by local fishermen who were divided into eight teams. Each team included three members in which two members rowed and one members holding flag to cheer. The race covered about 600m, including 300m-way out to the sea from seashore and vice versa.

The race took place boisterously with the wholehearted participation of fishermen and enthusiastic cheer from over 300 local people and tourists.
Finally, two teams of Tan Thanh Hamlet, Ninh Ich Commune placed first and second. Luong Son team and Phuoc Long team tied for third place.
