Reportedly, some people in Nha Trang started to sell New Year lanterns at this area around 20 years ago. The locals and tourists lovingly call this road the lantern street.

Nowadays, there are about ten stalls selling red lanterns at this stretch of street when the Lunar New Year is coming. Many people also choose this place to take souvenir photographs on New Year occasion.
