The Am Chua Festival 2018 of Khanh Hoa Province kicked off with an opening ceremony held at Am Chua monumental site (Dien Dien Commune, Dien Khanh District, Khanh Hoa Province) on April 16 (1st of lunar March).
The Am Chua Festival 2018 of Khanh Hoa Province kicked off with an opening ceremony held at Am Chua monumental site (Dien Dien Commune, Dien Khanh District, Khanh Hoa Province) on April 16 (1st of lunar March). Attending the opening ceremony were Nguyen Dac Tai, Deputy Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee; leaders of some provincial departments, organizations and Dien Khanh District.
The Am Chua Festival takes place in three days, from lunar March 1 to 3. On this occasion, the locals and pilgrims everywhere go to Am Chua monumental site to express their gratitude to Thien Y Ana Holy Mother and pray for peaceful life and abundant crops. The Holy Mother is believed to teach the locals to do field works, weave fabric, etc.
This year’s festival is expected to see an estimated number of 10,000 visitors, in which there are around more than 200 groups of pilgrims from some surrounding provinces like Phu Yen, Ninh Thuan, Dak Lak, and Lam Dong.
