The awarding ceremony of the Golden Kite Awards 2024, jointly organized by Vietnam Cinema Association, Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee and Vega City Joint Stock Company (KDI Holdings Group), took place at Do Theater (Nha Trang City) on September 10 night.

Present at the ceremony were Vo Thi Anh Xuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Nguyen Khac Toan - Permanent Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Tan Tuan - Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; ran Thu Mai - Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Khanh Hoa Province; Le Huu Hoang - Permanent Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Tran Hoa Nam - Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Khanh Hoa Province; and over 1,000 domestic and international representatives, artists from the US, South Korea, India, Azerbaijan, etc.

As said by Nguyen Tan Tuan at the awarding ceremony, the Golden Kite Awards 2024 is an important milestone, marking new steps of progress of Vietnam’s cinema. The increasing number of entries and their improving quality prove the continuous development of the domestic film industry. This event also helped to promote the images of Khanh Hoa to people in and outside the country, contributing to the implementation of Resolution No. 09 of the Politburo on building and developing Khanh Hoa Province to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

On this occasion, the chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee also called on called on individuals, agencies, units, organizations, businesses in the province as well as the representatives, distinguished guests, artists, and filmmakers to join hands in supporting the people affected by typhoon No.3 - typhoon Yagi. Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee provided support of VND10 billion and KDI Holdings Group offered support of VND100 million to the people in localities affected by typhoon No.3.

At the awarding ceremony, Vietnam Cinema Association announced and presented Golden Kite awards to the winners of categories such as feature film, TV series, documentary, science film, animation film, and short film.

In addition, the organization committee announced the winners of Silver Kite awards; individual awards for excellent director, excellent cinematographer, excellent main painter, excellent screenwriter, excellent lead actor and actress, excellent supporting actor and actress, promising young actors, and so on.

The 2024 edition of Golden Kite Awards introduced the category namely Most favorite male and female television actor and actress voted by the audience on TikTok. The 2024 awards were given to actor Tran Nghia and actress Le Xuan Anh.

Also at the awarding ceremony, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee presented flowers and certificates of merit to groups who had offered good support in organizing the 2024 Golden Kite Awards. Earlier, the representatives and artists participated in the red carpet event at the square of Do Theater – Libera Nha Trang. The organizing committee launched a campaign to raise funds for the people heavily affected by Typhoon Yagi. The representatives also unveiled 30 new stars on the Wall of Fame, representing the artists and works that won the 2023 Golden Kite Awards.
