Kate Festival 2025 opens

Kate Festival 2025 opened at the special national monument of Po Klong Garai Temple (Do Vinh Ward) on October 21 morning (July 1 of the Cham’s calendar). Present at the opening ceremony were Nguyen Khac Ha - Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Khanh Hoa Province; leaders of some provincial departments, sectors and localities in the province; the Provincial Council of Cham Brahmin Dignitaries; the Customs Committee of Po Klong Garai Temple.

At the ceremony, members of Provincial Council of Cham Brahmin Dignitaries performed the ritual of parading the ceremonial costumes from Po Inu Nugar Temple (Phuoc Huu Commune) to Po Klong Garai Temple to offer offerings to the Gods, praying for favorable weather, bountiful harvests and peace for the nation.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Khac Ha requested that provincial authorities, departments and localities continue to take practical and specific actions to preserve Cham cultural heritage and develop Kate Festival to a scale worthy of its value as a national intangible cultural heritage.

During Kate Festival 2025, many activities are organized at Po Klong Garai Temple, including offering ceremonies, Cham writing contest, traditional folk games, and music performances, etc.
