Responding to Ho Chi Minh City's relief appeal to support Khanh Hoa Province in overcoming the consequences of the recent flooding, the Social Charity Board of Ho Chi Minh City Buddhist Sangha in association with Ho Chi Minh City youth volunteer force organizes field kitchens to provide meals for people in the flooded areas.
In addition to the main kitchen located at Nha Trang University, there are 2 more field kitchens in Dien Dien Commune and 1 kitchen in former Phu Yen Province. These kitchens will be maintained until the lives of the local residents return to normal.
The kitchens are expected to supply over 20,000 boxed fresh meals a day.
The following are some images of the field kitchen at Nha Trang University.
Hundreds of volunteers, who are youth volunteers, students, local people, monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers in Ho Chi Minh City and Khanh Hoa Province, are working at the field kitchen at Nha Trang University around the clock to serve people in flood-stricken areas. Many vehicles from Ho Chi Minh City have been transporting dozens of tonnes of food and drinking water to Khanh Hoa for the field kitchens.
