Invested by Salangane Nest’s Company, a pedestrian mall located by the side of Cultural Center at 46 Tran Phu, Nha Trang was put into operation just before the Lunar New Year’s Day to meet the locals and tourists’ needs of shopping and dining out. With 50 stalls, the pedestrian mall is a nice surprise for its wide range of food including both great delicacies and rustic dishes like banh canh and bun ca. The food are of both Vietnamese and foreign cuisines.

Samurai Sushi Stall.

The most impressive are perhaps stalls run by Salangane Nest’s Company. Their menus include 8 dishes processed from high grade salangane’s nest such as bird’s nest salty and sweet soups with a gelatinous texture. The edible bird’s nests are among the most expensive animal products. You can be completely sure of the quality of the bird’s nest here.

Samurai Sushi stall is also a good place for dining out. Its owner is an overseas Vietnamese named Ngo Ba Tam, who has 3 Japanese restaurants in Norquay. He wishes to introduce Japanese dishes to Nha Trang, a famous tourist city in Vietnam. Samurai Sushi food concentrates on producing tasty food with as many natural ingredients as possible. Whether it’s miso soup, sushi, seaweed, steamed dumplings, salads, Japanese food, curry, teriyaki chicken or hot buffet dishes, it’s all fresh, tasty and healthy. Samurai Sushi food served here is quite cheap compared with those at Japanese restaurants in Nha Trang. A Maki set/ 6 pieces costs VND18,000 - 40,000. “Eaten for the first time, Maki may has a strange taste, but you will soon be addicted to the sweet and tangy food,” Tam said. Thai specialties are also served here.

In addition, many kinds of seafood can be ordered in a shop run by Cay Me Phu An Restaurant. Gia Bao Stall offers ostrich and crocodile dishes. Moreover, pancakes and past food are available here. The pedestrian mall has added to tourist destinations in Nha Trang City. Ngo Ba Tam said, ‘The atmosphere here is polite and friendly with comfortable outdoor seating.” Ngo Tan Thuy Tien, Director of the Pedestrian Mall Service Center said, “Favorable conditions are created for all the shop owners. Food safety has been under everyday supervision assured."

An American tourist named Joe Sherman said, “I like this pedestrian mall where I can enjoy all kinds of food and drink. I can have a wonderful experience sitting on a tranquil sidewalk just a few steps from the beach.”
