Different from the crowded and lively atmosphere in the daytime, Nha Trang City at night becomes quiet with some small stalls remaining open overnight. Late-night snacking is an interesting pastime in this lovely and peaceful city.

Late-night eating can be missed in tourist cities, including Nha Trang. Banh canh, a kind of Vietnamese noodles made from a mixture of rice and tapioca flour, is one of the ideal dishes for late-night revelers. It is easily found on the corner of Le Thanh Ton Street.
“I like the atmosphere of Nha Trang in the evening. It is not crowded and noisy like in Ho Chi Minh City. When the night falls, it’s great to go for a walk along the beach for a breath of fresh air and then snack in a sidewalk stall. These are unforgettable moments,” said Nguyen Thanh Hung, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City.
Another favorite late-night snack in Nha Trang is porridge. The most visited stall lies on Tran Hung Dao Street, at the back of Sheraton Hotel. The owner named Ken is a friendly and jovial man. His stall is tidy and the food is very delicious with reasonable prices. “My porridge is best-selling, so please come no later than 1am,” he suggested.
Snacking is a regular occurrence for passengers waiting for trains. A so-called Late-night Food Market can be seen on Thai Nguyen Street, not far from Nha Trang Railway Station.
All the stalls are open all night. Maybe the most popular dish is steamed glutinous rice at Sau Khai Stall, which is the most crowded whenever late-night trains arrive.
Over 15 kinds of steamed glutinous rice are available to meet every taste, including steamed momordica glutinous rice, glutinous rice cooked with split peas, teamed sticky glutinous rice with chicken, with meat, etc.
On one side of Nha Trang Dam Market stands an overnight wonton noodle stall named Hoa Hoa. Wonton noodles are usually served in a hot broth, garnished with leafy vegetables and wonton dumplings. Besides, at night tourists can also enjoy baluts or slices of grilled chopped fish or meat from street vendors.
Nha Trang City is known for its smorgasbord of cuisine choices. Late-night eating is a quintessential aspect of the city and one that must be experienced to understand this place truly.
