The youth join hands in new rural construction

Over the past time, the youth campaign in Khanh Hoa Province has been effectively implemented, contributing to new rural construction and promoting social security.

My Dong Village, Van Luong Commune in Van Ninh District has been installed with road lights, facilitating travel in the evening. Nguyen Ngoc Khanh in My Dong Village said, "Thanks to the newly installed solar lights, traffic safety, security and order must be improved."

This rural road lighting project with 15 solar lights worth VND30 million covering 1km has just been implemented by the Youth Union of Provincial Agencies in collaboration with Van Ninh District Youth Union. In Cam Thanh Nam Commune (Cam Ranh City), residents in Quang Phuc Village also shared the same joy when the Provincial Business Union had supported the locality to install 23 solar lights valued at VND60 million covering 1.6km of rural roads.

The 2 projects are among rural lighting constructions implemented by the Youth Union at all levels since the beginning of the year. In the first 7 months of the year, the Youth Union at all levels implemented more than 10 rural lighting constructions. The rural road lighting has painted a brighter picture of the countryside.

According to Tran Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, in the first 7 months of the year, volunteering campaigns, namely Spring Volunteering, Youth Month, Summer Volunteer Campaign and other activities were held together with numerous meaningful programs for urban civilization and new rural construction.

The Youth Union at all levels repaired 4km of rural roads; built and repaired 6 playgrounds for children; got engaged in urban civilization preservation with a total budget of more than VND500 million. Moreover, the Unions at all levels organized more than 60 clean-up drives, planted more than 25,000 trees worth more than VND250 million; and organized 38 clean-up activities.

Remarkably, Green Sunday campaign with 2 drives has run across the province. Its second drive has been recently held drawing more than 30,000 Youth Union members and young people to get engaged in trash pick-up, tree care and removal of illegal adds.

In addition, volunteers have also joined environmental protection, traffic safety enforcement, urban order and security maintenance activities. Notably, Cam Lam District Youth Union implemented the VND20 million project “Flowery road”; Khanh Vinh District Youth Union cultivated over 500 trees in resettlement areas.

According to Tran Anh Tuan, the youth campaign to join hands in new rural construction is one of the key contents in the annual youth program. Recently, Khanh Hoa youth has implemented many activities to promote the role of the youth in new rural construction. In the coming time, the Youth Union at all levels will continue effectively implementing the campaign, focusing resources on rural infrastructures to meet local needs and satisfy new rural construction criteria with focus on youth constructions, including rural road lighting, playgrounds for children, etc., contributing to developing Khanh Hoa into a centrally governed city by 2030.
