Early Moon Festival celebration coming

The Moon Festival 2023 is coming with lanterns and moon cakes offered to kids in disadvantaged and remote areas in Khanh Hoa Province. This year’s festive celebration was held early by many agencies, organizations and sponsors bringing a joyful and warm Moon Festival to all children.

These days, SOS Nha Trang Children’s Village has been filled with an exciting atmosphere with gifts from the Central Youth Union, Central Comrade Association, Provincial Youth Union and provincial Children’s House. 

Earlier, Prudential Vietnam Life Insurance Company Ltd., had celebrated the Moon Festival, giving meaningful gifts to children. "I receive gifts every Moon Festival. This year, the gifts came to us early," said Bui Gia Man (SOS Nha Trang Children's Village). Le Hung Nghe, Director of SOS Nha Trang Children's Village said the village will also organize numerous activities for children to celebrate the Moon Festival.

At Khanh Hoa Rehabilitation Education Center for Disabled Children, the Central Youth Union and Central Comrade Association jointly with the Provincial Youth Union have also organized a Moon Festival program, giving 160 gifts to children with disabilities.

Children not only on the mainland but also in Truong Sa island district received the gifts of joy on this occasion. To Thi Tuyet Ngan, Secretary of the Youth Union of Khanh Hoa Provincial Businesses said that on September 17, the unit and the Provincial Youth Union held the program "Loving and Affectionate" Moon Festival with 100 gifts, containing cakes, lanterns and school supplies for children on the islands of Truong Sa district. On September 19, gifts were given to children on the island, bringing great joy and excitement.

“Though living far on the island, we still receive much care and love from the mainland. This is a motivation for us to try more in study,” said 9-year-old Nguyen Khang Nguyen, Song Tu Tay Island, Truong Sa District.

According to Tran Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, the Provincial Youth Union has implemented a plan to celebrate the Moon Festival with various activities across the province. Since the beginning of September, the gift-giving program has taken place with the participation of many agencies, associations and organizations in the province. The peak period is on September 22 - 29.

In Nha Trang City, the Provincial Youth Union will coordinate with the Provincial General Hospital to organize the "Full Moon Festival" night, giving gifts to children in hospital. In Cam Lam District, the Provincial Youth Union will organize a "Full Moon Festival" for about 200 ethnic minority children at Cam Phuoc Tay 1 Primary School.

Several activities to welcome the Moon Festival will be organized by the Provincial Youth Union, Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, and Cam Ranh City People's Committee on September 22 with gifts given to 1,000 children in Cam Ranh City.

Furthermore, the Provincial Youth Union assigned the Provincial Police Youth Union and Ninh Hoa Town Union to jointly organize the Moon Festival program for disadvantaged children in Ninh Hung Commune (Ninh Hoa Town); the Provincial Children's House to celebrate the Full Moon Night and give gifts to 1,000 children at orphanages, social service centers, etc.

Besides, numerous activities have been planned in localities to ensure the Moon Festival is filled with great fun and excitement for kids.
