In order to effectively implement the tasks and solutions stated in the Resolution No. 09 by the Politburo on the construction and development of Khanh Hoa Province to 2030 vision to 2045, defining that Khanh Hoa will become a centrally-governed city by 2030, Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee has recently sent a document to the Ministry of Transport on proposing an additional station on the high-speed railways running through the province.
In 2018, the Provincial People's Committee and the Ministry of Transport approved that there will be 1 station, 1 depot and 2 maintenance stations on the high-speed railways running through the province. The station is located in Dien Thanh Commune (Dien Khanh District), about 1.5km from the National Highway 27C, about 11km from Nha Trang City center.

The depot, about 40.5 ha, is in Dien Dien Commune (Dien Khanh) and to the south of Am Chua Lake, about 1km from the road leading to the lake. In addition, on the route, there will be 2 railway infrastructure maintenance stations, 3ha each, including Van Ninh maintenance station (Van Luong Commune) and Cam Lam maintenance station (Cam An Bac Commune).
According to Nguyen Van Dan, Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Transportation, to ensure long-term development, the Provincial People's Committee proposed adding 1 connection station in Cam Lam District and Cam Ranh City; adjusting the station location in Van Phong Economic Zone and the location of Cam Lam maintenance station.
Accordingly, the Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, vision to 2050 and the adjusted general planning for the construction of Van Phong Economic Zone to 2040, vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister has updated the high-speed railway alignment approved by the province and the Ministry of Transport. In addition, the solution has also been updated in the Railway Network Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister in 2021.
According to the adjusted general planning for construction of Van Phong Economic Zone, in Van Phuoc Commune (Van Ninh), there is a proposal about the location of the high-speed railway station together with urban railways connected to Dam Mon (Northern Van Phong) and Ninh Hoa center (South Van Phong).
Therefore, regarding the location of the high-speed railway station in the northern region of the province, the Provincial People's Committee proposed that the Ministry of Transport consider adjusting the station location from Ninh Hoa Town to Van Phuoc Commune to ensure synchronization and accordance with the development orientation proposed in the approved Master Plan for Construction of Van Phong Economic Zone.
In addition, pursuant to the Resolution No. 09 by the Politburo and Resolution No. 42 of the Government promulgating an action program to implement the Resolution No. 09, Cam Lam new urban area is planned to become a type I urban area and Cam Ranh City as a type II urban area together with improvement in network of rail, road, sea and air transport in the southern region of the province.
Therefore, the Provincial People's Committee has proposed the Ministry of Transport consider adding 1 connection station in Cam Lam and Cam Ranh to get connected to Cam Ranh Port, promoting its full potentials and advantages in accordance with the local development orientation.
The Provincial People's Committee also requested the Ministry of Transport to direct the consulting unit to work with the province on the selection of the station location and scale to ensure synchronization and suitability with the urban development orientation.
In addition, the Provincial People's Committee also proposed that the Ministry of Transport would adjust the location of Cam Lam Maintenance Station to Cam An Nam Commune from Cam An Bac Commune.
