At the 2nd Chinese Language Public Speaking Contest 2023 held by Vietnam - China Friendship Association, Chinese language learners in Khanh Hoa had a chance to show their interest and responsibility to join efforts in promoting the designation of Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa.
10 finalists were from Nha Trang University, Pacific Ocean University and Nha Trang Khai Minh Cultural Center. The "Sightseeing Khanh Hoa" themed contest brought both excitement and challenge to contestants in highlighting the destination in a new impressive and appealing way.

The finalists were judged in public speaking and interviews. Duong Nghia from Nha Trang University chose Dam Market as the topic for his presentation within 4 minutes, giving basic information about its history, lotus-shaped architecture and other characteristics.
Contestant Doan Thu Trang (Pacific Ocean University) introduced the unique cultural treasure of Hon Chong scenic spot. Tran Thi Huyen Tram (Nha Trang University) inspired travelers to explore Doi Gio, where tourists can attain breathtaking city views and experience thrilling parasailing (Dak Loc Village, Vinh Phuong Commune, Nha Trang City).
Contestant Ngo Thi Mong Thuy (Nha Trang University) introduced another stunning landscape of Ba Ho (Ninh Ich Commune, Ninh Hoa Town), which boasts for its untouched natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere in the wild.
Contestants took turns to unique characteristics of the tourist destination of Khanh Hoa. Besides, other attractions mentioned included Ponagar Temples, Monkey Island, Institute of Oceanography, Long Son Pagoda, and Hai Nam Hall.
Contestant Tran Thi Huyen Tram said, “The contest was a rewarding experience, giving me a chance to improve my Chinese language skills while introducing famous attractions in Khanh Hoa. In addition, I also learned a lot from other contestants in presentation".
According to Vuong Vinh Hiep, General Director of Long Sinh Co., Ltd., Head of the Jury, the finalists had quite impressive presentations with fluent speaking skills in Chinese as well as a wealth of knowledge about their homeland.
According to Pham Thi Hong Nha, Chairperson of the Vietnam - China Friendship Association of Khanh Hoa Province, Head of the Contest Organizing Board, launched in mid-June 2023, the contest received 27 entries from students at 3 universities and learners from 1 Chinese language center.
10 excellent entries were selected to advance to the final round. The contest was committed to inspiring Chinese language learning as well as promoting interest in tourist attractions of Khanh Hoa.
The first prize was awarded to Tran Thi Huyen Tram, the second prize to Ngo Thi Mong Thuy and the third to Doan Thu Trang; 2 consolidation prizes went to Duong Nghia and Nguyen Doan Vy from Pacific Ocean University.
