Boosting labor demand and supply connection

Khanh Hoa Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has directed its affiliations to strengthen labor demand and supply connection and gained satisfactory results. Labor demand at the end of 2023 is forecast to decrease due to many factors, so the authority is taking solutions to stabilize the labor market from now to the end of the year.

Providing a link between job seekers and employers

Joining a job fair organized by the Provincial Job Service Center in Dien Khanh District, Le Thi Huyen (Dien Dien Commune, Dien Khanh District) has been employed by Gallant Ocean Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Suoi Dau Industrial Park, Cam Lam District). “I got a job thanks to the job fair. I will try to keep up with my new work and hope to stay with the company for a long time," she said.

According to Nguyen Dinh Hong Loan, Deputy Director of the Provincial Job Service Center, since early 2023, the Provincial Job Service Center jointly with localities has opened 10 job fairs, providing a link between 3,000 job seekers and 500 businesses. Besides, 55 online job fairs are held every Tuesday and Thursday.

At online job fairs, employers and job-seekers meet virtually for interviews via Zoom Cloud Meetings. 5 online job fairs with central provinces and the highlands are held every month via Skype. The job fairs helped provide a link between job-seekers and employers, providing access to work opportunities for more than 500 people as well as facilitating enterprises to find employees for their production and business.

In addition, the Provincial Job Service Center has also increased vocational counseling and career orientation for employees and students; career counseling and job recommendations, linking employers and job seekers.

Sending workers to work abroad under contracts is also considered a very effective job creation channel. Therefore, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has strengthened connections with businesses and localities to promote propaganda; and directed vocational training to meet recruitment demand in Japan and South Korea. 244 employees in the province started their work abroad under contracts from January to the end of September,

Efforts to stabilize year-end labor market

According to Chu Van Cong, Director of the Provincial Job Center, the labor demand in the province in the fourth quarter of 2023 is forecast to decrease by 3 to 5% compared to the third quarter, focusing on a number of industries such as processing and manufacturing; agriculture, forestry and fisheries; wholesale and retail trade and repair of cars, motorbikes and other motor vehicles; financial, banking and insurance activities.

Required qualifications are forecast to be 2.69%% with bachelor’s degrees or higher,  7.45% with Associate's Degrees, 4.24% with vocational intermediate education, 1.17% with primary vocational education and 84.45% unskilled labor.

According to Van Dinh Tri, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, from now until the end of the year, the Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs sector will focus on effectively implementing the Government’s Resolution No. 06 dated January 10, 2023 on labor market development; promptly providing consultancy for the Provincial People's Committee on appropriate support for workers financially struggling as a result of losing their jobs or experiencing a drop in work hours and earning; continuing taking solutions to enhance connection and regulate labor supply and demand; encouraging job creation in both public and private sectors; encouraging employees to choose suitable jobs for their abilities and strengths; providing effective vocational training, retraining and up-skilling to meet the current labor market needs.
