Inspiring young people's passion for science

Nha Trang Youth Union has just organized the 1st Creativity Challenge and Robotics Competition to provide an environment for Youth Union members and young people to show and develop their passion for science.

The Creativity Challenge and Robotics Competition has drawn a large number of Youth Union members and young people in Nha Trang City. They showed their creative thinking and talents through assembling and controlling robots; making potential energy vehicles; designing load-bearing bridges; and ball shooting machines; taking part in the Golden bell ringing contest with questions about science and technology.

Performing robotic assembly and control.

Nguyen Trong Gia Phu, Class 9, Bui Thi Xuan Junior High School, said, “I’m interested in activities related to technology such as assembling and controlling robots held by Nha Trang City Youth Union. This is the first time I have participated in such activities which are very helpful for us.”

Chu Minh Phuong, Deputy Secretary of Nha Trang City Youth Union said, “The event is to create a playground for young people to experience scientific experiments and robotics programming completely free of charge. Such activities are held to bring science to the playground, helping promote students’ interest in science and technology, creative thinking as well as inspire and navigate scientific research."

Through such events, the organizing board has surveyed the need for scientific playgrounds among junior high  school students. Nha Trang City is making plans to expand the scientific playgrounds with similar activities related to STEM learning, robotics, fun science, etc. at junior high schools.

Such experiential activities at school and city levels are designed to provide opportunities for students to inspire creativity and scientific passion for science and technology, according to Chu Minh Phuong.
