More resources to housing construction support

Implementing policies on housing construction support for the disadvantaged in Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh under the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the period 2021 - 2025, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee proposed the Provincial Fund "For the Poor" to offer an additional grant of VND20 million/house to marginally poor households.

Practical policy

Recently, the province has implemented many policies on house construction and repair support for the disadvantaged mainly in Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh under the National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the period 2021 - 2030, the 1st period from 2021 to 2025 and the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction in the period 2021 - 2025.

The Provincial People's Committee has a housing support scheme for the disadvantaged in Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh under the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction in the province in the period 2021 - 2025. Accordingly, 274 marginally poor households are entitled to VND40 million house construction grants and 253 to VND20 million each for house repair.

According to Ca Tong Thi Men, Vice-Chairwoman of Khanh Vinh District People's Committee, pursuant to current housing support policies, each poor household is entitled to VND40 million aid from the central budget, VND40 million from the provincial budget, in addition to access to loans offered by the Bank for Social Policies under the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas. Meanwhile, the marginally poor are only offered VND40 million/house from the provincial budget.

To add financial assistance to the marginally poor in house needs, the People's Committees of Khanh Vinh and Khanh Son districts have proposed that the province would increase support for the marginally poor to build houses.

At a recent meeting on housing support for the marginally poor under the province's national target program for sustainable poverty reduction for the period 2021 - 2025 in the two mountainous districts of Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh, Dinh Van Thieu, Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee stated that the Provincial People's Committee proposed that the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee would provide an additional aid of VND20 million from the Provincial "For the Poor" Fund in support of 274 marginally poor households in Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh districts to build new houses. Accordingly, each household will be given VND60 million for house construction, including VND40 million from the provincial budget and VND20 million from the Provincial Fund "For the Poor".

The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the Provincial Committee for Ethnic Minorities  to preside and coordinate with the departments of Finance, Planning and Investment, Construction and People's Committees of Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh districts to implement the housing support scheme.
