Young people join hands to boost digital transformation

Nha Trang Youth Union has just coordinated with the City Department of Culture and Information to organize a youth forum on digital transformation. At the forum, many opinions, recommendations and solutions were given to help Youth Union affiliations to evaluate and boost digital transformation to gradually improve operational efficiency in the coming time.

Many activities to apply digital technology

According to Chu Minh Phuong, Deputy Secretary of Nha Trang Youth Union,  Nha Trang Youth Union affiliations have applied digital technology with several effective models, namely digital library for children; non-cash payments in localities; QR codes for resources of famous people, cultural addresses and so on. At the forum, Youth Union affiliations had the opportunity to share experience related to application of digital technology.

Many digital transformation activities have been held such as managing students' summer activities 2023 by deploying QR code attendance system; mobilizing residents and business households to make non-cash payments; and applying digital technology in giving instructions and assigning tasks to members.

According to Pham Tan Quang, Secretary of Phuong Son Ward Youth Union, in addition to the achievements, there are difficulties in digital transformation related to limited awareness and facilities. Therefore, the representative of the Inner City Youth Union 2 gave suggestions such as promoting propaganda to raise members and young people’s awareness of the role of information technology and digital transformation; organizing activities to improve digital capacity for young people and the community through forums and festivals, training workshops on online public services, e-payment accounts, etc.

To improve digital transformation

According to Duong Minh Dung, Secretary of Vinh Hiep Commune Youth Union, a representative of the Agricultural Youth Union, digital transformation in agriculture and rural areas still faces difficulties. Recently, propaganda has been focused on the benefits of non-cash payments; and support for small businesses to create QR codes for transactions; establishment of community-based technological groups to support people in online public services. In the coming time, Youth Union affiliations will coordinate with commune Farmers’ Associations to support farmers and cooperatives in digital transformation in production, traceability, marketing and on e-commerce platforms to promote digital transformation in agriculture and rural areas.

In addition, representatives of Youth Union facilities also made suggestions for the city to more effectively implement digital transformation in the coming time. Nguyen Thi Kim Dung, Secretary of the Youth Union of Pham Van Dong High School said that the representative of the school Youth Union suggested improving communication skills in the digital environment for officials, members and young people; and developing digital skills in teaching for teaching staff.

Pham Binh Phuc, Secretary of Xuong Huan Ward Youth Union, a representative of the Fisheries Youth Union confirmed the need to increase digital transformation training for Youth Union activities; Improve the efficiency of membership management apps and so on.

Through the forums, Youth Union officials had a chance to share experience and solutions to improve digital transformation in the coming time, contributing to promoting the role of the youth in digital transformation.
