Effectively marine sovereignty propaganda

In recent years, Van Ninh District has proactively promoted national marine sovereignty propaganda and achieved many satisfactory results, contributing to raising public awareness and responsibility for the protection of national marine sovereignty.

Satisfactory results

In October 2023, Squadron 32 (Coast Guard Region Command 3) coordinated with the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Board and Van Ninh District Party Committee to organize propaganda for laws on the sea and islands, focusing on Vietnam Coast Guard Law and preventing and combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing among more than 300 fishermen in Dai Lanh and Van Thanh communes.

Nguyen Van Liem, Chairman of Dai Lanh Fisheries Union said, “The commune has more than 50% of fishermen with about 160 fishing boats from 12 to 15m. Through propaganda, we help fishermen understand and comply with regulations, contributing to protecting aquatic resources and protecting the national marine sovereignty.”

According to Nguyen Thai Nguyen, Deputy Secretary of Van Ninh District Party Committee, in recent times, grassroots party branches and organizations have organized many sea-based propaganda campaigns, protecting marine sovereignty and sustainable marine development.. The district has also actively propagated on social media, with more than 800 articles posted on "Van Ninh today" website so far and contributed to the Fund "For Vietnam's seas and islands".

Educational institutions have proactively integrated marine and island propaganda in teaching. The District Political Center organized 26 classes on marine propaganda for more than 2,000 students. The district Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations have implemented many meaningful activities. In particular, in 2023, the District Women's Union has effectively implemented the program "Accompanying border women" with hundreds of scholarships awarded to children and women in need. Van Ninh District Youth Union has posted more than 15,700 articles affirming marine sovereignty on social media and mobilized contributions of nearly VND6 million to the Truong Sa sovereignty canoe project.

Further propaganda in many forms

Determining that sea and island propaganda as a regular and urgent task, in the coming time, Van Ninh District will continue promoting propaganda in various forms. Party cells, grassroots Party Committees, departments, branches, agencies and socio-political organizations are to proactively develop plans and implement marine sovereignty propaganda to raise public awareness about Vietnam's seas and islands; promoting patriotism and aspiration for self-reliance, steadfastness and national prosperity pursuant to Resolution No. 09 of the Politburo on building, developing Khanh Hoa Province to 2030, with a vision to 2045. In addition, the district will focus on applying digital technology, taking advantage of information technology and diversifying methods of communications and propaganda.

The district continues to strengthen coordination with authorities to organize propaganda campaigns on the sea and islands, focusing on synchronously and effectively deploying forms of propaganda, promoting the role of propagandists, reputable dignitaries in the community, members of socio-political organizations... in propaganda; Promote the role and effectiveness of grassroots radio propaganda together with dialogues to fight against disinformation, adds Nguyen Thai Nguyen.
