Expanding learning promotion campaigns

After more than 20 years of construction and development, Dien Khanh District Study Promotion Association has widened its reach, contributing to talent and learning promotion as well as developing a learning society.

Promoting studiousness tradition

Huynh Ly proudly talked about the family's tradition of studiousness, “our family has 4 doctors, many masters, bachelors, and successful engineers, with many contributions to society. For  more than 100 years, the family has maintained rewards to descendants for their achievements. Over the years, the study promotion fund has gradually increased, thereby supporting and rewarding hundreds of students in need. Many of successful people have returned to contribute and support the fund to help other difficult cases."

Studious families have been honored for their tradition of studiousness, inspiring younger generations to learn and contribute to society. Good examples include the families of Do (Dien Lac Commune), Huynh Van, Huynh Trung (Dien Dien Commune), Ly (Dien Phu), Tran (Binh Loc Commune), Tran Dang (Dien Hoa Commune), etc.

The families have well maintained their learning models with many activities to inspire learning among younger generations. Other learning models known as learning families, communities and citizens have also been promoted, contributing to building a learning society.

Over the past 5 years, the district study promotion association has mobilized individuals and organizations and businesses to donate nearly VND1 billion and 350 bikes; award scholarships and grants to hundreds of pupils and support teaching equipment for schools.

Resources mobilized for study promotion

Study promotion associations in communes and towns, study promotion branches in villages and schools have implemented many ways to contribute to developing the learning campaign.

Vu Thi Thanh Tam, Vice-Chairwoman of Suoi Hiep Commune People's Committee, Chairwoman of the Commune Study Promotion Association, said that the commune has integrated study and talent promotion and learning society development into its development plan; strengthened the steering committee to ensure universal education, illiteracy eradication and a learning society development, etc.

According to Nguyen Thi Kim Huong, Vice-Chairwoman of Dien Khanh District People's Committee, Chairwoman of the District Study Promotion Association, study promotion associations at all levels have received much concern and support from the Party and government and close coordination of the Fatherland Front agencies, departments and socio-political organizations, contributing to improving learning and talent promotion towards building a learning society.

The meetings with scholarships offered to students from disadvantaged families and ethnic minorities at the beginning of the new school year and on the occasion of the Lunar New Year are a great motivation for students to overcome difficulties and flourish.

In the coming time, the association will continue improving its operation and quality, emulation campaigns to develop 5 learning models; with more activities to benefit more students, continue to mobilize resources to provide material and spiritual support, empower students to go to school and develop the study promotion campaign in the district.
