Fire safety family groups help prevent reduce fire risks from beginning

In the first 10 months of 2023, Khanh Hoa Province established nearly 550 fire safety family groups joined by a large number of residents. With proper skill training, they have helped to eradicate many fire incidents completely from the beginning, thereby preventing potential destruction.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Duc Phuong, Chief of Phuoc Hai Ward Public Security, thanks to fire safety training together with portable fire extinguishers and other fire-fighting equipment available, a fire safety family group was able to promptly prevent the fire from occurring in the first place due to faulty wiring in a small house on Nguyen Khanh Street, Nha Trang City while the house owner was away.

Members of fire safety family groups are regularly provided with fire safety training.

In addition to establishing fire safety family groups in residential areas, the Provincial Police and local authorities have also focused on enhancing knowledge and skills for members, according to Lieutenant Colonel Ho Chi Thanh, Deputy Chief of the Department of Fire Prevention and Control and Rescue, Khanh Hoa Provincial Public Security.

Reportedly, since the beginning of 2023, hundreds of fire safety family groups have attended training sessions on fire extinguishing and rescue, provided with first aid and rescue skills to improve preparedness for potential fire-related emergencies.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Ho Chi Thanh, together with the fire safety family groups, the public fire safety equipment model in residential areas has been developed and supported by local authorities, bringing high efficiency in fire prevention and rescue.

Since the beginning of the year, the province has developed 302 public fire safety equipment locations equipped with portable fire extinguishers, ladders, hammers, axes, etc. for use in emergencies to prevent and extinguish fire as soon as it starts to eliminate the threat completely.
