Enhancing urban appearance

After 2 and a half years of implementing Resolution No. 06 dated January 11, 2021 of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee on the Provincial Urban Development Program for the period 2021 - 2025 and orientation to 2030, the urban appearance has gradually improved towards sustainability, civilization and modernity, contributing to promoting local socio-economic development.

Resources focused on urban development

The Provincial People's Committee has directed departments, agencies, socio-political organizations and localities to implement Resolution No. 06, striving to achieve the set targets. In the period 2021 - 2025, the total capital estimated for the construction of key works and projects for the Urban Development Program is more than VND111,885 billion.

Nha Trang City has made capital allocation for about 100 projects with a total of more than VND243 billion, disbursed more than VND142 billion; Cam Ranh City has made disbursement for 15 projects, nearly VND30 billion; Cam Lam District has arranged a capital of nearly VND42.7 billion and disbursed more than VND40.3 billion. The remaining localities have been implementing projects on traffic, techniques, sports and urban residential area infrastructures.

The appearance of Nha Trang City northern area has been enhanced.

The Provincial People's Committee has also approved many investment promotion programs; Made a list of extra-budgetary projects in the province; organized conferences to improve the investment and business environment, focusing on promoting industrial development, attracting investment in developing infrastructure of economic zones, industrial parks, and industrial clusters, prioritizing industries that create high added values and protect the ecological environment and developing 3 key economic zones.

More than 40 projects on new urban areas and housing have been completed and underway  in the province to build a synchronous system of technical and social infrastructures in urban areas, creating modern landscape architectures, contributing to promoting the development of urban areas combined with ancillary services.

Since 2021, there have been 3 social housing projects, including Social Housing 01 and Social Housing 02 in VCN Phuoc Long Urban Area, HQS Social Housing in Le Hong Phong I New Urban Area, PH Nha Trang Social Apartment;, along with many urban area constructions that have been accepted and put into use. Other projects, namely Social Housing 02 Phuoc Long New Urban Area, Cam Ranh Social Housing are under construction to meet the local housing needs.

Striving to become a centrally-governed urban area

At the recent conference to make a preliminary summing of 2 and a half years of implementing Resolution No. 06, Nguyen Ngoc Minh, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction said that in the coming time, the province needs to soon complete the urban construction and land use planning; arrange district and commune-level administrative units to ensure the synchronous urban development; propose solutions to mobilize resources to invest in developing framework infrastructures and urban systems throughout the province as a basis for urban area evaluation and upgrading.

According to Tran Hoa Nam, Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee, in the period 2024 - 2025, the province strives to effectively mobilize many domestic and foreign capital sources and economic sectors, especially from businesses to invest in infrastructures, residential areas, commercial areas, environmental improvement; continue to invest in many transport infrastructure projects to promote socio-economic development, and contribute to sustainable urban development and management.

In the coming time, the Provincial Urban Development Program must be implemented following the Politburo's Resolution No. 09 on the construction and development of Khanh Hoa Province till 2030 with a vision till 2045; and the Provincial Planning and Provincial Urban Development Program that have just been approved by the Provincial People's Council; defining turning Khanh Hoa into a civilized, modern urban area with good living environment quality and a major center of marine economic, tourism and service; creating a foundation for Khanh Hoa to develop comprehensively in all fields by 2030 to become a centrally-governed urban area.

According to the Department of Construction, to the end of 2022, the urbanization rate was estimated to reach 62%. Nha Trang City, Ninh Hoa Town, Dien Khanh District, To Hap Town (Khanh Son District) and Khanh Vinh Town (Khanh Vinh District) basically achieved the set targets. The average urban floor space per person reached 26.33 m2; Solid and semi-solid houses accounted for 97.6%; The ratio of traffic land to urban construction land was 92.5%.
