Khanh Hoa Provincial Women's Union has organized a forum on natural resources for sustainable livelihood on Bich Dam, Vinh Nguyen Ward,
Present at the forum were Associate Professor, PhD. Nguyen Chu Hoi, Standing Vice-Chairman of the Vietnam Fisheries Association together with more than 40 delegates who are experts and project coordinators; representatives of departments and tourism businesses and residents on Bich Dam.
At the forum, delegates were updated with the results of a survey of the current status of relics and cultural values in Bich Dam community, including Bich Dam communal house, a 100-year-old tree, Bich Son Pagoda, An Thanh Temple, a fishing village, Hon Lon lighthouse, culinary specialties and Bich Dam Festival.
Based on the survey, delegates discussed natural and social resources for sustainable livelihood development, through the restoration and preservation of historical relics and promotion of cultural values; proposed sustainable livelihood models for the Bich Dam community and the neighborhood in the strictly protected area of Hon Mun, Nha Trang Bay.
This is one of the contents of the project "Promoting dialogue and cooperation between the community and the private sector with state agencies in coral reef conservation and sustainable development of Hon Mun and Nha Trang Bay, Khanh Hoa Province" implemented by the Provincial Women's Union.
The project is funded by the Global Environment Facility - Small Grants Program developed from July 2023 to June 2024.
