Scholarships "For beloved Spratly Islands" presented to professional officers and soldiers’ children

Khanh Hoa Newspaper in cooperation with Black Moon Foundation and Brigade 146 (Naval Region 4) held a program to present scholarships "For beloved Spratly Islands" on December 16.

Present at the event were Rear-Admiral Ngo Van Thuan, Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of the Naval Region 4 Headquarters; Thai Thi Le Hang, Secretary of the Party Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Khanh Hoa Newspaper; and Colonel Pham Van Tho, Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of Brigade 146.

Scholarships are presented to pupils.

30 scholarships were awarded to children of Brigade 146 officers and soldiers working on the Spratly Islands and at the Brigade. The grants, VND1-3 million each, were worth VND46 million in total contributed by communications lovers of the Black Moon Foundation to show sentiments for the beloved Spratly Islands.

The scholarship program is committed to encouraging pupils to overcome difficulties and do their best; and helping professional officers and soldiers feel more secure and motivated to fulfill their assigned tasks, including protecting the national marine sovereignty.
