Taking photos of kids on mountainous areas for free

The Help-Portrait Nha Trang group organized a Free Portrait Photography Day 2023 at Giang Ly Commune Primary School, Khanh Vinh District on December 16. The event was held for the 9th time in Khanh Hoa Province and the 12th time in Vietnam.

Help-Portrait Nha Trang photographers took 500 portrait photos and delivered them to the children and their parents free of charge. At the program, the organizing board offered 700 gifts, including warm coats, footwear, sweets, teddy bears and 100 food portions to disadvantaged families.

Nguyen Nhu Thong, Head of Help-Portrait Nha Trang said, “This program is to capture the happiest moments as meaningful Christmas gifts for children in remote areas.”

The group is pleased to have a bunch of cheerful cute photos of little children playing together and having fun. Besides, some stories touched photographers' hearts as some families also wished to have their old family members’ photos taken as these might be the last photos of valuable memories.

The event is an opportunity for photography enthusiasts to contribute to the community, promoting understanding and sharing with others through the great spiritual values of photos in bringing joy and giving hope to many people, especially kids.

Children eagerly look at pictures taken.

23- year-old Nguyen Duc Huy, a volunteer from Ninh Hoa Town said, “This is the first time I have joined the program. The kids were a bit shy but they all smiled brightly in front of the cameras. Their joy and happiness were conveyed in their eyes. I hope this will be held annually to reach more people. Each photo is a beautiful moment, inspiring confidence in life."

La Minh Dy, a third grader said, “This is my first photo. I will keep it carefully and hope my mom and friends will have more and more beautiful photos.”

During the journey of sharing and spreading kindness through photography, Tran Hai Binh (Nha Trang City), who has participated in the program from the first days, hopes the photos can help improve communication, understanding and empathy, helping partly ease grief and sorrows in life.

Nguyen Nhu Thong is happy to give photos to disadvantaged kids.
